End of Year Celebrations
Our tentative date May 25th will not work for 8th Grade Celebration .We will need to explore other dates. If you have an 8th grader, please come to our next PTO meeting April 13th at 6pm to start planning this fun event.
Important Dates to Remember
March 28th - 6pm - MVLA Lego Robotics Team will be honored at the Board Meeting.
March 28th through March 31st - On Site Missions at the Challenger Learning Center 12 - 2pm (A different group will be going each day.). March 30th Mission scrubbed due to high winds!!!!
April 1st - The short film created by our amazing Film Prize Jr. team will be premiered at the Film Prize Junior NM Youth Short Film Festival. You can watch it at home at: https://www.filmprizenm.com (See the Flier below for more information and to see how you can see it in person.)
April 11th - April 27th is when we will be working on our State Assessments NM-ASR - Science Assessment and the MSSA (The State Summative Assessments.) These assessments do not take this long, but we will complete the testing during these weeks.
April 28th - AMAZING SHAKE - Every year our students participate in a school wide competition called the Amazing Shake. This competition allows students to practice many of the skills we teach them. Our incredible students were super successful at the Regional National History Day Competition at the Farm and Ranch Museum on Friday February 24th! Now they will be advancing on to the State Competition which is set for April 15th. Want to know more about what National History Day is? Check out the link below.

And again! MVLA takes first with their Film Prize Junior Entry!
Yes! Our students have again out done themselves! They took first in the Sci-fi/Fantasy Category with their film, "Let's watch a movie". I cannot express how proud I am of them! Great job kids and Mrs. Wendler!

- Allie Goldsteen won 1st Place for her Individual website
- Aiden Wojtko took 2nd place for his paper.
- Maddie Sandel, Uma Ivey-Quintero and Lily Louick took 2nd in Group Documentary
- Piper Gandy and Lianna Brown took 3rd in Group Documentary
- Ethan Robillard, Wesley Ray and Josh Rodriguez received Honorable Mention for their website
- Alivia Villanueva took 1st in individual Documentary
- Troy Ainsworth took 2nd in his individual Documentary and Calvin Chastine took 4th with his Individual Documentary!!

- Mrs Montoya will be out from April 12th through the end of school year. We should be getting a sub for her, but this will be quite a transition working without the heart of the school.
- Mr. Blais, Mrs. Martos and Mrs. Telles will be in Orlando, Florida at an Innovative Schools Conference from March 30 - April 2nd.
