The PGJH Pulse (Parent Edition)
January 1, 2024 | #EPIC: Every Person Impacts Culture
Hello, and Welcome to the Pulse!
Go, Tigers!
--Zach Vest, PGJH Principal
1st Semester Grades Will Be Posted by Monday, January 8th
Teachers will be finalizing and uploading grades this first week back. Grades will all be entered before teachers leave work on Friday, which means your child's grades will be ready for viewing by Monday, January 8th in HAC.
WIN Time Changes
This semester we will be switching over to three days of WIN Time (intervention and enrichment) on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday based on feedback received from our staff, instead of four days. We will have homeroom on Wednesday and Friday.
Last semester we had this period (between 1st and 3rd Hour) every day except Wednesday, so we feel this extra time on Friday now will give students and staff more of a work/life balance during this allotted period. Students and teachers will have more time now to build relationships, do attendance/grade checks, and catch up on missing work as needed on Wednesday and Friday. This also allows for more flexibility for club and extracurricular meetings as needed.
We will keep students in homeroom for at least the first two weeks of school, which would put us having our first week of intervention and enrichment during the shortened week of January 15-19.
Colors Day Assembly this Friday!
Basketball homecoming, or Colors Day, will be this Friday, January 5th. 7th graders will sit nearest the band bleachers and 8th graders will sit nearest the entrance doors.
Parents and guests are designated to sit in the center section (as pictured below).
There will also be an elementary and middle school assembly in the morning at 8:30 a.m.
Colors Day festivities begin at 6:00 p.m.! Go, Tigers! Beat, Shiloh!
Welcome, Mr. Davis!
We are excited to welcome Mr. Scott Davis aboard as our new Keyboarding teacher and StuCo sponsor! Mr. Davis previously taught a variety of broadcasting, journalism, and keyboarding courses in the Rogers School District and worked for various local newspapers before coming to us here at PGJH! We are excited to welcome Scott aboard!
We ❤️ You Miss Carol
Our sweet paraprofessional, Mrs. Carol Martin, lost her beloved husband Dennis the day after Christmas after a long battle with cancer. Dennis and Carol both have had a long, hard journey these past few years, and we know it will still be tough in the days and weeks ahead for Carol and her family.
We love you and are keeping you close to our hearts, Carol! 🖤💛

🐅 Tiger ROARs! 🐅
Shout out to Mr. Davis for taking on StuCo and already pitching in wherever needed! We are glad to have you on our Tiger team! Thank you, sir! 👊
Thankful to those staff members and coaches working their tails off, even on their holiday break. It's not glamorous work, but the kids appreciate your dedication more than they show. You are much appreciated and loved by kids and adults who often forget to simply say "thank you." So, THANK YOU! 👏
