Longhorn Notes
A newsletter for the Kimball Jr/Sr High School Community
January 3, 2021
In this issue of Longhorn Notes, I want to highlight some of our incredible staff members at the Kimball Jr/Sr High School. The past semester was very challenging. Our staff dealt with the unexpected on a daily basis. I can't tell you how thankful I am for their willingness to embrace change, to step-up when faced with challenges and to always keep our students at the forefront when making decisions. I am proud of our ability to complete the semester in-person, allowing us to give each student the emotional and academic support that school provides.
I asked each staff member to answer a few questions and to share a photo. The questions were: 1) How many years have you been in education? 2) How many years have you been at Kimball Public Schools? 3) Tell us about your family. 4) What's your favorite thing about being a teacher/working in the school? 5) What is something you are thankful for during the holiday season? 6) What do you like to do when you're not at school?
Although not all responded, I hope you enjoy getting to know some of our staff members a little better after reading the newsletter!

I know several students had an extended break due to required quarantine. If your child missed the last couple of weeks of last semester and still have missing work, he/she will have a chance to make up missing work during the upcoming week. All grades will be finalized by January 11th.
We will be providing the NWEA MAPs testing to students during the first week of school. The data from this test will give us an idea of what impact the last two semesters may have had on our students and what interventions we can focus on this semester to help students who may have fallen behind.
I'm looking forward to a great semester ahead!
