Student Safety
Student safety is at the forefront of all decisions we make in Brunswick Schools, including bus safety. Please remember to always stop for a school bus with red lights flashing. This helps ensure the safety of students getting on and off the bus. Often times, students need to cross the street to get on and off the bus, and not stopping puts them at serious risk of injury. Furthermore, it's the Law - All 50 U.S. states have laws requiring vehicles to come to a complete stop when a school bus has its red lights on and stop sign extended. These laws exist to protect students, so following them is not optional. Failing to stop can result in fines and other penalties. In short, failing to stop for a Brunswick School bus with flashing red lights puts students at risk and violates traffic laws. Stopping shows respect for student safety while also avoiding accidents and setting a responsible example. Being attentive and patient around school buses takes little effort but goes a long way in protecting our students.

Transportation Department Schootles Award!
Congratulations to Cathy Normand -
Our most recent Schootles Award Winner!
Cathy was nominated by a parent who said in part: My two kids, Kindergarten and 6th grade, ride Ms. Cathy's bus. She is the beacon of light in my day and ALWAYS brings a smile to my kids' faces, even when they're tired and grumpy. She is so patient and kind, and I have no idea how she remembers every single kid's name, including our 2-year-old's (who obviously doesn't ride the bus!). Lastly, thanks so much for implementing the BusRight app. It is awesome!

Let's kick up the likes and give Ms. Cathy the recognition she deserves!

High School Musical Jr.

Performances are February 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at 7pm (doors open at 6:30).
Tickets are $10 at the door.
High School Musical Jr. is a story about young people finding their true selves in a society that urges them conform to social norms. When Troy and Gabriella shock their friends by auditioning for the school musical, chaos ensues. But soon, other students begin to follow suit. But when Sharpay, head of the drama club and musical starlet, tries to foil their plans, they have to choose between pleasing their friends and staying true to themselves. Or just maybe, they'll find a way to do both. This show promotes kindness, acceptance, and individuality.

Kids Kindness Challenge
The Kids Kindness Challenge invites kids to engage in service, perform acts of kindness, and inspire moments of gratitude throughout the month of February.
Wild Maine is an entirely volunteer-driven initiative hoping to engage kids in activities every day throughout the month that connect them with themselves, their community, and their local environment. Challenges range from writing letters of gratitude to teachers to performing acts of kindness for their families. They are simple, age-appropriate and aim to inspire acts of intention over the course of the month.
It's free to register! The Bath YMCA donated 100 visitor passes that will be given to the first 100 kids who register and participate over the month.

Challenge is hosted by Wild Maine & The Forest Playgroup
