Take Home Tuesday

...just a friendly reminder that tomorrow, September 1, is a Districtwide Late Start. Students begin school at 9:30. So, arrival gets pushed back 1 hour.

Greetings Sward Families:

Tomorrow, you will see our 5th Grade PATROL GUARDS back on duty! We are excited to be able to provide our oldest Eagles with this leadership opportunity. Your patience at arrival and dismissal is appreciated as these student leaders get settled into their new positions. While they help to keep us safe, it is important that we help to keep them safe also.

Parents of students in grades 3, 4, and 5 can expect to find extracurricular opportunity forms in the Take Home Tuesday folders today. We are so happy that these extra offerings for students are now back in our calendar.

Welcome back Sward families!! Please remember to keep students home with any signs of fever, headache, muscle/body aches, congestion, runny nose, cough, sore throat, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, new loss of taste and smell, or difficulty breathing. If a student is sent to the health office with any of these symptoms and a diagnosis of seasonal allergies by a doctor is not on file they will be sent home for either a negative PCR covid test or they must be evaluated by a doctor and another diagnosis must be made. Covid 19 mimics many other illnesses so in order for students to return early an evaluation must be done. Siblings of the symptomatic student must be kept home as well, however they do not need to be seen by a doctor or have a Covid test to return. Thank you all so much for your understanding and patience as we work together to follow these guidelines.

At this year's Fall on the Green (September 11 and 12), there will be a Live Like Abby tent. Please click HERE to view the flyer for the event. Proceeds from this year's Fall on the Green event will be donated to Live Like Abby as well as 2 additional causes. Volunteers are needed. Please click HERE if you would like to register to volunteer.

Please remember dismissal time is at 3:20. Children get nervous when they do not see you as they come out of the door. The children who have not been picked up come to the office for a phone call home. The office has been very crowded after school everyday so far and this is only the beginning of the school year. Please remember FLASH is an affordable option if you need a place for your children to go after school.

As the students come back to school, some of our Eagles may need some academic, social emotional, or behavioral supports. For this reason, we follow the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process in order to help meet our Eagles' needs. Families will have the opportunity to sign up for Chromebook Insurance, and are encouraged to do so, prior to September 30, 2021 at the cost of $25.00 per child. This can be completed through Skyward Family Access. If you have any questions, please call the Sward main office at (708)423-7820.
