CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MARCH VIPS!

We had a BLAST cheering on student excellence this week. The students chosen did an exceptional job exhibiting the character trait - Trustworthiness - for the month of March.

Parent Information for Student's Class Placement

The Vaughan Elementary Parent Information for Student's Class Placement Form is now available for parents to share their student's academic, social, or learning style for consideration for 2023-2024 homeroom teacher placement. This form is not meant to be a way for parents to pick their child's classroom teacher. This is completely optional. Please click HERE to get the form. Deadline to submit your form is 3 pm, Friday, April 21st

Save the Date - Field Day - Wednesday, May 24th

Vaughan Viking Field Day will be held on Wednesday, May 24th, for students in grades K-5. Sixth graders will be carefully selected to assist with all activities.

Students in grades K-2 will participate from 8:15-9:45, and students in grades 3-5 will participate from 9:45-11:15. Roughly half of all stations will involve water.

Additionally, we will have a bounce house/slide combo, bubble/foam station, and popsicles for students to enjoy.

All students should wear water shoes/crocs/ or old shoes to the event and bring a change of clothes, towel, and plastic bag to store wet clothes.

VOLUNTEER SIGN UP INFORMATION

We would love your help with field day this year! Background checks are required for you to volunteer. Please use this link to complete a background check for the 22-23 school year if you have not done so already.

*Volunteers WILL be able to walk with their child, but I ask that you help get the stations started and check in with the station from time to time.

*While we're allowing volunteers, we are not allowing visitors for field day.

Save the Date! STAAR 2023

We will be administering the STAAR (State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness) test to our 3rd - 6th grade students starting at the end of April. Students throughout the state of Texas will be taking STAAR during this time. The students will be testing online using their district issued device.

Please do not schedule appointments for your student on days he/she will be testing. Students will not be able to leave the testing environment and return to complete the test.

In addition, we will not be allowing visitors or volunteers, including lunch visitors (for any grade), on STAAR testing days.

We appreciate your help and understanding during state testing.

STEAM Earthfest and Market

Please join us for our second annual Earthfest and Market event on Saturday, April 15 from 2-6 pm at the Allen ISD STEAM Center. At the event will be local ecological and environmental non-profit organizations, student clubs, programs, entertainment and a Farmers Market. Kindergarten Enrollment

Prekindergarten Update & Enrollment for 2023-2024

In the 2023-2024 school year, Allen ISD will serve eligible students in a full-day Prekindergarten program. The program will consist of both monolingual and bilingual classes and will be located at George J. Anderson Early Childhood School. Enrollment opens on Monday, April 3rd. Elementary and middle school campuses will also receive a printed poster in both English and Spanish, next week. Please hang these in a common entrance area of your school.

Looking to get Involved?

Join the Allen ISD School Health Advisory Council!

Are you interested in playing a vital role in our district-wide implementation of a coordinated school health program? Allen ISD is seeking parents interested in serving on the district’s School Health Advisory Council (SHAC). The SHAC plays an essential role in strengthening the connection between health and learning while also assisting Allen ISD in ensuring that local community values are reflected in health education instruction.

The Allen ISD SHAC is now accepting applications from parents, guardians, and community members for the 2023-24 school year. SHAC membership is a one-year commitment with four SHAC meetings.
