BBQ Fundraiser to Help Support NHS Senior Cole Dale

Cole Dale is a senior at Nipomo High School. Cole is currently fighting cancer and the BBQ fundraiser is being organized to assist in Cole's fight. Don't miss out on this Barbecue fundraiser, you can get BBQ chicken, beans, bread, and salad, and it's only 15$ a plate, cash only Sat, May 20th at Nipomo High 2-5 pm.

~AGHS CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS~

Clubs should know in order to advertise for your club special events, please turn your announcement into room #205 for posting. Going forward, flyers will be hung in Eagle Hall, on the tri marquee and blue board in the quad, on the Softball Shed wall, outside room #912, and in the admin building window. All other posters will be removed.

Library News

As we all look forward to summer, it's time to plan to return your books!

  • Last day to check out library books is May 15
  • All library books (not textbooks) due May 30
  • Seniors ONLY will return their chromebooks with their English classes during the week of 5/30-6/2. If you do not have an English class, you can return your device at any time that week.
  • If you are returning to AGHS in the fall, you should keep your chromebook!
  • Classes will be scheduled to return textbooks
  • Return all books you are no longer using as soon as you are finished with them
  • Seniors will have to clear their library accounts/fees in order to pick up their diploma


UPCOMING SPORTING EVENTS: See WEEK OF SPORT

CIF Swim Team

Our boys swim team had a great showing at CIF this past weekend, highlighted by a 1-2 finish in the 200 Individual Medley by Jack Capra and Max Tuggle. Both of them earned spots in the CIF State Championship meet this weekend. Video of the race is linked below for anyone interested- they are the 2 yellow caps in lanes 3 (Max) and 5 (Jack). It's a good one.

Our 400 freestyle relay of Jack, Max, Joe Capra, and Paul Keith also advanced to the state meet with a 3rd place finish in that event, and David Ramirez qualified 1-Meter Diving event with a 4th place finish.

Please congratulate the boys if you get a chance.

CIF Boys Volleyball

Congrats to the Boys Volleyball team on another successful run in the playoffs. Ultimately losing in the semifinal match at #2 seed Fresno Christian in four games. The Eagles put together two great home wins to make the semifinals and we look forward to next season.

PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE

On May 15th, 1940, the first McDonald’s fast food restaurant opened in San Bernardino, CA. The restaurant, founded by the McDonald brothers Richard and Maurice, originally focused on barbeque, but in 1948 simplified their menu and settled on the name ‘McDonald’s’. The restaurant became a franchise in 1954, and adopted the iconic Golden Arches in the restaurant designs at the suggestion of Richard McDonald. In 1961, Ray Kroc bought the company from the brothers for $2.7 million and transformed the restaurant chain into a corporation. The business expanded from there, and in 1984 Richard was served the ceremonial 50 billionth McDonald’s hamburger.
