Principal's Message

Dear Vista Families,


There is no school on Friday, November 10th in observance of Veteran's Day. In addition, our fall break is scheduled from November 20th-24th.


I am looking forward to seeing everyone at our annual Turkey Potluck at El Roble. This is a Vista tradition that has been in place for over 25 years! Bring your favorite dish to share.


Vista has a great fundraising opportunity that we hope that you can share with family and friends. Panda Express is providing Vista with 28% of the proceeds of all ONLINE sales. Just order at your local Panda and enter the online code 919249, then pick up and enjoy your dinner! Yes, it's that easy. Also, orders placed at any Panda Express qualifies, so email and text family and friends that live near and far.


In addition, our Read-a-thon begins Monday, November 13th and extends to December 1st. Please see the flier below for more details. Finally, don't forget to join us for our virtual PFA Meeting on Monday evening. See the information below to obtain the Zoom link. Hope to see you there.

Read-a-thon is Back!

An Important Note about Attendance

Just a reminder that Excused Absences due to personal reasons are as listed below. Reasons other than those listed are considered unexecused absences. This is a mandate by the State of California.


  1. Family funeral
  2. Appearances in court
  3. Holiday or ceremony of student’s religion or culture
  4. Family emergency (verifiable)


When you leave a message on the attendance line, please clarify the reason. Thank you for bringing your child to school everyday.

School Parking

Several of our entry/dismissal points are on Vista Drive so plan ahead for early arrival and morning school traffic. The staff parking lot will be closed. There will be no entry/exit to the parking lot. Keep in mind that all white painted curbs are for student drop off and no parking will be allowed in those areas. Please be courteous to our neighbors by not blocking driveways and adhering to the posted speed limits. Claremont Police Department continually monitors the flow of traffic so please adhere to all posted signs.

iPad Insurance

During the first week of school, teachers will send out an iPad check out form. Please be sure to return this form as soon as possible. iPads will not be sent home until this form is returned to your classroom teacher. Enclosed is the iPad insurance form. For a nominal fee, you can insure your child's iPad for the entire school year.
