Titan Families,

Welcome Back! It was great to see our Titans today and get back on schedule. After being on a break, it can be a challenge to get our families back on track with expectations, rituals and routines. Many emotions can accompany this process. Take comfort in knowing we are supporting your Titan(s) on campus with your efforts at home. If you have a concern as we transition back, please feel free to communicate this with your Titan's teacher.

Families, we ask that you help our community in getting back in the routine of following our traffic patterns and drop off expectations in the morning to keep our Titan Community safe. If you plan to meet with a staff member, check lost and found, eat lunch with your child, etc. you must check-in at the front office and get a visitor's badge. If you plan to pick up your child early or have a transportation change, record that through school dismissal manager by 1:35 PM. If you have any questions about this information, please feel free to check out our school website or contact our front office team by phone or email.

There are a lot of updates here, so please take some time to read through it all and mark your calendars for some great events on campus. We hope you partake in our spirit night at Chick-fil-A on Thursday from 5-8:00 PM! As always if you have a need, please reach out. Let's make it a great week to show and build P.R.I.D.E. in all we do!

During the February 16th board meeting, the Board of Trustees did call a bond for a May election. You can find information about the bond here. There will be community outreach in our area, and as soon as we have those dates and times, they will be shared.

Our PTA requested a bond presentation for our community so our community can understand the details surrounding the 2023 bond. Please save this date! As we get closer to the presentation, the front office will send out an RSVP form to allow for easier check-in process for the office and for all of our attendees.

We invite our students and families to share their student experience and school climate this year. Leander ISD is partnering with K12Insights to help us collect your feedback. The results of this survey will provide critical evidence of progress for our LISD Strategic Plan, Campus and District Improvement Plans, and our Community-based Accountability System (CBAS). They will be used by campus and district leaders to guide our ongoing improvement efforts.

The LISD Student Experience/Climate Surveys for students (grades 3 - 12) and parents will be open from Feb. 22 to Mar. 21st.

How will surveys be administered?

• Parents will receive an email with a link to the electronic survey from K12Insights. Link to Parent Survey

• Elementary Students (grades 3-5) will have the opportunity to participate in the survey during the school day. Students will log into the survey from a landing page provided by their teacher. Link to Elementary Student Survey

The March Newsletter contains information about Family Education Events, Department Spotlights, Meal Time Fun, Behavior at Home, Knowledge of Self, Have You Heard and Reading Nook.

The Dual Language Application for 2023-2024 for incoming kindergarten students is available now. Applications must be turned in to LISD, online, in person or via mail by Friday, May 5, 2023, at 5 p.m. to be considered for the program. Applications received after May 5, 2023, may be placed on a waitlist.

Dads (or those with influence over them!) …River Place Elementary would love your help on the following days:

• April 7,14, and 28
• May 5, 12 and 17

The WatchDOGS volunteer program is open for the spring semester. This is a full school day commitment to make a difference, meet the teachers and staff and get a good look at what your kids are doing every day. Memories will be made, kids will never forget, and the faculty will be grateful. We’d love to have you join us!

If you have any questions about the program please call or text Cuyler Owens at 512-483-1589. He has been volunteering over the last 10 years to support his 3 kids and has agreed to be the point of contact for any questions.

If you would like to be a Watch D.O.G., follow these simple steps:

1. Read through the expectations and sample schedule

2. If you have not done so already, register as a Leander ISD Volunteer

3. Sign up here for one or more dates this spring

4. Marc Grace will contact you one week before your volunteer day with more detailed information.
