- For students interested in trying out for a Spring sport (LAX, Baseball, Softball):
Sports forms must be submitted to the Health Office by Friday, March 4. All PPE's will be reviewed by Mrs. Austenberg and cleared for try-outs by the school physician before the Spring season. Tryouts are scheduled for the week of March 14.
Students who do not have the mandated PPE (and HHU if needed) turned in will not be eligible to try out.
Dr. Porter will be in to clear all PPEs on March 10.
- This week, Administration received reports of parents making u-turns on Mountain and Village Circle at dismissal and not observing the designated "no parking" areas. There will be increased police presence during dismissal to address both parents and students who are not adhering to traffic laws.
A note from Ms. Walsh
Happy Friday Mountain View! I hope everyone had a great week and is enjoying the little bit of warmer weather! It was an Advisory week, and an exciting one! The 5th grade is continuing their NJ Bar Foundation Bullying Prevention Lessons, and this week's topic was Upstander Strategies. The 5th graders learned how they can be a buddy, stop and redirect, speak out, or tell someone in bullying situations. Students worked in class discussions to decide how they would handle different bullying situations, and identified which upstander strategy they might be most comfortable trying out in the future.
The sixth, seventh, and eighth grade topic for Advisory this week was Self-Care. Students learned about Mental, Emotional and Physical self-care and the importance of listening to the cues from our minds and bodies. Seventh and 8th grade girls had a special focus on physical self-care with Mrs. Austenberg as a special guest! Mrs. Austenberg shared her knowledge on nutrition to teach students how proper nutrition impacts both our brain function and development. All 6-8th grade students were challenged to practice self-care this weekend (and because it is beautiful outside, fresh air is my number one recommendation)!
Have a great weekend!
