3rd quarter comes to a close

Hard to believe that our 3rd quarter of this school year will wrap up on Monday, March 14. With that, report cards will be coming home on Thursday, March 17. Field trips start to fire up at the end of this month. We will begin to plan for next school year. Spring gets busy. All things considered between COVID and snow days, we have had a good 21-22 school year. As is always the case, please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions or concerns.

Next PTO meeting is scheduled for March 15 at 5:30 in our library. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend. We will be discussing Bingo Night and other topics.

Three Finalists for Central Elementary

In the music and art room, 3rd-5th grade students participated in the annual Picture the Music Contest hosted by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. They created artwork inspired by the music of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5. Teachers were able to submit up to seven pieces of artwork per school, and a panel of expert judges selected the top 100 from more than 360 entries. Central Elementary had three finalists - Aubrey Hunter, Isabella French, and Tyler Burton. Congratulations to these three students! The Picture the Music awards has a ceremony honoring the finalists artwork.

SUMMER SCHOOL DATES

Summer School information will be coming home soon.

Summer School dates: June 2 to June 29

Free breakfast, free lunch, fun and engaging activities centered around academics, and transportation is provided.

Parent / Teacher Conferences

Parent / Teacher Conferences will take place the week of March 21. Teachers will setup meetings with parents if they have student concerns. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have concerns to setup a conference.

Central Staff Awards

Central Elementary's Teacher of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year is Mrs. Trini Wood, our librarian.

Central Elementary's Classified Employee of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year is Mrs. Billie Hardester. Mrs. Billie spends time in the library, cafeteria, and the preschool classroom.

Both the Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year are nominated and voted on by other Central Elementary employees.
