Carline Procedures
Pull all the way forward. Your student will follow your car. This is to allow as many families to load at one time as possible.
Use the double stacking lane. The double stacking requires everyone to take turns and alternate to the single loading and unloading lane as indicted by the yellow fire lane and the orange cones.
We thank you for being courteous of one another and looking out for the safety of all students.

WHAT IS CYBERPATRIOT?
CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air & Space Forces Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the nation's largest cyber defense competition that puts high school and middle school students in charge of securing virtual networks. Other programs include AFA CyberCamps, the CyberPatriot Alumni Network, an elementary school cyber education initiative, a children’s literature series, CyberGenerations –a senior citizen cyber safety initiative, and a Tech Caregivers program designed to encourage cyber-savvy volunteers to give back to their communities.
Highland Springs Middle School is forming a team to compete in the 2023 CyberPatriot Competition.

School Improvement Council
We are reaching out to notify parents, guardians, and caretakers of an opportunity to serve our school and its students as a parent representative on the Highland Springs Middl School Improvement Council.
What is the School Improvement Council?
(SIC) is an advisory council to the principal that is focused on school improvement issues. The SIC is comprised of representatives including parents, teachers, and community members. Your school principal serves as an ex-officio member. The SIC meets monthly during the school year on Fridays at 10 am.
For more information concerning the South Carolina School Improvement Council and its purpose, please visit https://sic.sc.gov for detailed information including mission statement, frequently asked questions, bylaws and handbooks.
Who is eligible to serve as a parent representative?
Any parent, guardian or primary caretaker of at least one child currently enrolled at NAHS is eligible for nomination as a parent representative. Parent representatives are elected to a term of two years. If a parent has a child enrolled in the 12th grade at NAHS for the current school year and will not have any child enrolled the following year, that parent is elected to a term of one year only.
How do I nominate myself or someone else for the SIC as a parent representative?
Nominations for SIC parent representatives will be accepted via digital nomination form until August 15th. Once verified, nominees will be added to the parent representative ballot for voting at Open House on August 24th.
Please use the form link found in the post below to submit a nomination.
Voting Process
In-person voting for SIC elections will begin during the Open House event on August 24th from 5 - 7 pm. A ballot box with voting slips will be in the main office lobby for the duration of the event.
The three parent representatives who receive the most votes will be notified via e-mail and asked to confirm their intention to participate as a parent representative.
Please reach out to Jeremy Lehman, jlehman@acpsd.net with any questions.
