Cold and Flu Information
Caldwell School District Families,
As we head into the winter months, this is a quick reminder that cold and flu season is upon us. It is important we work together to keep our children safe and healthy. Viruses/Common Colds spread easily among children in schools. Right now, the State of Idaho is very high for the activity level for the flu. While we always want your children in our buildings, we want to limit the spread of the flu, COVID-19, and the common cold.
We encourage our families to support this goal by doing the following to reduce the spread of viruses in our schools:
Please do not send your children to school if they are sick;
Avoid close contact with people who are sick;
If you are sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them;
Cover coughs and sneezes;
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it;
Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub;
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Germs spread this way;
Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with viruses that cause flu;
For flu, CDC recommends that people stay home for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone except to get medical care or other necessities;
Working together, we benefit the community as a whole. We appreciate your partnership during this time.
