HAPPENINGS
Holiday Jubilee
Mark your calendars for the second annual Holiday Jubilee scheduled for December 8th during the school day in the Innovation Hall. The theme this year is "A Season of Peace and Joy." Students will be performing songs with messages of peace and joy as well as sharing a couple of their favorite songs from music class. Mr. Hendry will be sending out more details about the exact schedule, dress code, and a sign up for a few volunteers after Thanksgiving break. We looking forward to celebrating music, peace, and joy at FAST!
Gratitude Parade
During the month of November, kindergarten students learned about letter sounds in their reading block, the history of Thanksgiving during social studies, and what it means to be grateful in SEL. Each student was assigned a letter sound and asked to identify something they are grateful for that starts with the sound. On Tuesday they held a gratitude parade. Each student dressed as the thing they are grateful for. This creative cross-curricular activity was adorable. Special thanks to the kindergarten team for putting it together and to the kindergarten parents for hitting it out of the park with the costumes.
Technology Fair
The annual FAST Technology fair will be held on December 1 from 9-11am in the Innovation Hall at FAST. This event is the precursor to the Fulton County Technology Competition. FAST students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their projects prior to competing at the county level. We welcome our parents to attend to see the variety of projects our students are working on.
Lockdown Drill
On Thursday morning we held both soft lockdown and hard lockdown drills. The state requires these drills be done periodically to ensure that both staff and students are prepared to react in the unlikely event of an emergency on campus. The students all did very well during the drills following directions and remaining silent as needed.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Tennis Champs
We want to give a shout out to 7th grade students Adam Hussain and William Beach who took home the top prize for their City Finals as the 2023 ALTA U-12 Junior Champions. We know how hard they worked to achieve this victory. Congratulations to them both!
Middle School Talent Show
If you didn't catch the inaugural FAST's Got Talent, you can watch the video on the school Facebook page where it was livestreamed. We are forever impressed by our students and this occasion was no exception. Middle schoolers showed off their talents with a variety of dance styles, guitar playing, singing and art. Students in grades 1-8 enjoyed the show and grades 6-8 voted for their favorites. The final count was very close as it was clearly tough to choose a favorite. With the final votes counted, we are proud to announce the winners of this year's middle school talent show.
1st place: 8th grade Cameron Lanzo
2nd place: 7th grade Ethan Fowlkes
3rd place: 6th grade Barrett Rixey
Congratulations to the winners and to all of the contestants for putting on a great show!

GASTC Programming Challenge
6th graders Naitik Koshti and Maximillian Montesinos participated in the GASTC programming challenge conducted by ACTE on Nov 11, 2023. Ms. Ushakumari was their teacher sponsor as they competed against more than 80 students from other schools in the area. While they did not place in this competition, we are incredibly proud of their efforts.
Happy Thanksgiving
From all of us here at FAST, we wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the break, and we will see you back at school on November 27.

School Communication
All questions or concerns you have regarding your student should first be directed to their teacher. Please allow up to 48 hours for a response. If the teacher is unable to provide resolution, you should contact the Assistant Principal for your child's grade. On the off chance that you still have not been able to reach a resolution after contacting the teacher and the AP, you can contact Principal Mary Miller at mary.miller@fastk8.org. Our communication and escalation policy can be found on our website.
While under the auspices of Fulton County Schools, we are governed by our own governing board. Sending your issues directly to Fulton County rather than following the FAST communication chain will cause a delayed response as they will only defer to FAST and forward the issue back to us to address.
