Important Dates and Updates

May 22nd - Fifth Grade Graduation at Parkade Baptist Church

May 23rd - Field Day/Morning (dress appropriately for outdoor play)

May 25th - Last Day of School - Dismissal at 12:50 PM


Grade cards will be sent home on the last day of school. Please make sure you help your child sort and organize the mass amount of paperwork and supplies that will be sent home next week.

I cannot believe this is my last Friday newsletter of the school year. It has been a great year and words can not express my gratitude for each and every one of you.

Prairie Fork Field Trip

On Tuesday we traveled to Prairie Fork Conservation Area to explore a variety of Missouri ecosystems. We searched for organisms in the pond, investigated living and non-living things in the prairie, and wandered through the forest. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers. Their expertise and aid in supervision was very helpful!

Hurricane Katrina Unit

Storytelling

Dr. Carver came and spoke about storytelling. Dr. Carver is a theater professor from the University of Missouri. Students practiced listening and retelling. They also discussed what makes stories interesting and memorable.

Fine Arts

This week students worked hard to show their learning in a variety of ways. They used Garage Band to make music, built sculptures, made iMovies, and recorded green screen forecasts. It was so much fun!

Officer Ash

On Thursday, Officer Ash came and spoke about aiding in hurricane recovery with his position in the National Guard.
