Principal's Message
Dear Vista Families,
Thank you for having your child participate with Vista's Spirit week! This week's discussion was on how we can all show school pride. Go Vikings!
Please mark your calendars that our lockdown drill is scheduled Monday, September 25th. You should have received a flier detailing ways to have an open discussion with your child should there be an emergency on campus. If you need a copy of this flier, please ask at the front office.
Mark your calendar for two additional events. We have Dr. Veronica Alvarez facilitating a family art night at Vista on September 26th as well as picture day on September 27th. Last year, Dr. Alvarez joined Vista for a spectacular educational Art Event. If you would like to join us this year, please be sure to register using the QR code within the flier that is posted on this newsletter.
Be sure to check out the CUSD Showing Up Together Campaign highlighting positive attendance. This social media challenge is for CUSD students to creatively announce the importance of regular school attendance. Submissions can be song, music, acting, newscaster announcement, or any creative way to share with others the importance of consistent attendance. Please see the flier beneath my message for more information.
Warmly,
Mrs. Nuanes
Welcome our New Librarian: Annie Gebhardt
I am Annie Gebhardt (or “Miss Annie”), the new school librarian! My family and I have been proud Vista Vikings since my son enrolled in 2019. I am honored and delighted to be serving our incredible Vista students, staff, and families in this role! I come with a varied professional background that includes work in children’s entertainment, health education, and social services. Most of all, I love books and libraries, and I am excited to share that with our students. When I’m not at Vista, I work with the Claremont Forum’s Prison Library Project and volunteer with the Friends of the Claremont Public Library. Currently, I am also the president of the Vista del Valle Parent-Faculty Association (PFA), and have so much fun getting to know other parents while planning special events and raising funds to support our school. I’d love to talk with you any time about the library, books, school activities, parent volunteer opportunities, and more!
If you would like to reach out to Miss Annie, feel free to email her at SGebhardt@cusd.claremont.edu.
