The Board of Education Student Showcase honors high school students with top honors in regional, state, and national competitions, and middle school students with top honors in district, metro, regional, state, and national competitions. The award to each honoree is provided through the generous support of the MPS Foundation.

The Millard community filled the MPS Foundation's annual Jingle celebration to capacity this past weekend. The fundraiser provides support for Millard's schools. Additionally the Board of Education received the results of the Foundation's annual Staff Campaign at last night's Board meeting. This year the Foundation raised participation to a record 53%. Millard staff contributed a total of $62,831.

Millard students and staff recently wrapped up the annual United Way campaign. The Board received the United Way report last night. This year students and staff donated $50,093.

The following teachers will be joining Millard this January:

• Katie M. Gosker – Elementary Teacher for Millard Public Schools
• Michelle A. Urban – Special Education Teacher at Ackerman Elementary School

The following administrator has accepted a new position for the 2024-25 school year:

• Heidi Penke - Current Principal at Aldrich Elementary, moving into the position of Director of Recruitment and Retention for Millard Public Schools

The following teachers and administrators have announced their plans to retire:

• Kimberly M. Bolan – Preschool Teacher at Upchurch Elementary School
• Kimberly J. Reid – READ Teacher at Montclair Elementary School
• Mary A. Bayne – Assistant Principal at Millard North High School
• Frederick A Petito – Physical Education Teacher at Millard North High School
• Linda M. Ward – Teacher Librarian at Neihardt Elementary School
• Darrin F. Comstock – Social Studies Teacher at Andersen Middle School
• Mark J. Scott – Science Teacher at Andersen Middle School
• Juventina C. Sloter – Spanish Teacher at Millard South High School
