Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Year 8 Elections

Year 8 students held their elections which saw them create a political party and run an election campaign. Theu were set different challenges looking at Home affairs, Foreign affairs and reforms.

Election Winners

This finished with a debate where party leaders gave speeches summing up their parties views and the floor was open to all students along with staff to answer questions and grill them on their policies. The British Workers Party were elected winners for this academic year.

CTS Sixth Form

We have welcomed out first cohort of Sixth Form students to CTS this week. It has been amazing to see some of our Year 11 students moving into year 12 and also see some new faces. Pictured are Taylor, Jordan and Harley.

Stars of the Week

Students:


  • Mr Holmes has nominated Sonny 8S for his hard work, contribution and standard of written work within History.
  • Miss Fenner has nominated Eoin 8T for a great start to the new school year in English.
  • Mr Cox has nominated the following Year 8 students for their excellent attitude to the work set during the drama tasks in STEM, Sonny, Dominik, Declan, Darci and Toby.
  • Mr Bidwell has nominated Callum John 10T excellent work and detailed understanding in Geography.
  • Mr McRae-Smith has nominated Rio and Bradley 8S for a very productive start in German.
  • Miss Longhurst has nominated Leoni and Maahi 11S for their organisation in History.

  • Mr Bidwell would like to say Thank You to all staff who supported with the Sixth Form induction.

This year has seen our first set of students complete their GCSE examinations.

Next Steps

Many have chosen to continue their education at CTS and we look forward to seeing them in our new Sixth Form.

We would like to wish all Year 11 students the very best of luck for the future.

Reminders:

  • We will hold Open Evenings for current Year 6 students on Thursday 21st September and Tuesday 26th September with sessions at 5.30pm and 7.00pm. No appointments are necessary.
  • Celebration Evening will take place on Wednesday 13th September from 6.00pm onwards. Letter have been sent to all students involved.
  • There will be a Meet the Tutor evening on Thursday 14th September for Year 7 students with sessions at 5.15pm and 6.15pm. A letter has been given to all students for parents/carers to choose which session they will attend.
  • Parents/Carers of Year 12 students are invited to attend a Meet the Tutor drop in session on Thursday 14th September at 5.15pm.
  • McMillan Cake Morning will take place on Friday 29th September. All cake donations will be welcome.
