8th Grade Tell Tale Heart Trials
This week in 8th Grade ELA, students prepared statements for prosecution and defense cases. The jury had to determine whether the narrator's actions in "The Tell Tale Heart" showed that he was guilty of murder or not guilty by reason of insanity. The students were visited by a local defense attorney earlier in the week, who helped all sides prepare for trial. Out of the three classes/trials, two of them determined that the narrator was not guilty by reason of insanity!
Introduction to Education Students Interview Assistant Principal Mike Kirk
Did you know Introduction to Education is one of several CCP courses offered during the school day to Williamsburg students? Our Assistant Principal, Mr. Kirk, joined students in our College Credit Plus (CCP) Introduction to Education course to participate in a student-led interview. Students asked Mr. Kirk questions about his role as Assistant Principal at WMHS and his journey into education. As always, Mr. Kirk was full of insight and great advice for these future educators.
You might have noticed a new decal on one of the pumps at the Williamsburg BP! In a partnership with Colonial Oil and Williamsburg BP, we have started the Burg Schools Community Pump program. Starting December 1, all gas sold through pumps #5 and #6 at Williamsburg BP will result in the school district receiving a donation of one cent per gallon. Our students will benefit from these funds that will be used for special events, reward/incentive programs, and field trip sponsorships. All you have to do is go to Williamsburg BP, use pump #5 or #6 (look for the Burg Schools logo), and purchase your gas like normal!
