A Message from Ms. Lewis
Greetings Parkway Families!
We have a busy week ahead! This week we will hold our first Parent/Teacher Conferences of the school year. We are very excited about getting to visit with you about your child's progress and accomplishments! Your child's teacher should have scheduled a Zoom conference with you. If you have not received your time, or scheduled your conference, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Here's a look at our calendar for the week:
- October 21: Early dismissal (1:45 pm) & Parent/Teacher Conferences/Report to the Public @5:30 pm Zoom Link
- October 22: School Closed for Students
- October 29: PES Trunk or Treat Family Night 6 pm - 8 pm
- October 25 - 29: Red Ribbon Week (See flyer below for more information)
We are very excited about our first ever Trunk or Treat Family Night! There is still time to sign up to participate as a "Trunk" in the event. We are only one trunk away from our goal!! So, get creative and sign your family (or business) up to host a trunk! We also still need candy - so anyone wishing to donate can send a bag of candy to our office. Thanks for helping us make this an awesome event for our students.
Just a reminder that all documentation for excused absences must be submitted within five days of your child returning to school. Also, please remember that seven unexcused absences or ten tardies per semester are considered excessive. We are required to file a truancy petition with the Saline County Juvenile Court for students with excessive absences or tardies. If you need more information about our attendance policy, please refer to our Elementary Student Handbook, which can be located on the Bryant School District webpage, or contact our school office.
Don't forget about the PES Virtual Book Fair. You can shop online at: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/parkwayelementaryschool24. Our school benefits from every sale. Last year, we bought books for classroom incentives and stocked our school's makerspace station with supplies. Thank you for supporting literacy and our school's library program!
Have a wonderful week. If you have any questions or need anything, do not hesitate to contact me.
Proud to be your principal,
Michele Lewis
