I am so excited to be your new Principal! For the past year and a half, I have been serving as our TCAA Curriculum & Instruction Director, but I have about twenty years of experience in education, serving students in charter schools, public ISDs, private conservatories, and the collegiate level. This will be a year unlike any we've experienced, but I know we are all going to work together to make it amazing!

At TCAA, we are working hard to make sure you have the information you need. Moving forward, you will have a TeSA weekly message, TCAA weekly message, TCAA monthly newsletter, and TeSA monthly PTO newsletter. You can also look for these updates to be added to our TeSA, TCAA, and TeSA PTO Facebook pages. Please let me know if you are not getting these publications and I will help connect you!

TCAA will follow the current Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidance that allows school districts to conduct the first four weeks of school through At-Home Learning. We will focus on providing the best virtual education possible for our students! Watch your email for the TCAA Strong Start Commitment Form to indicate if you would prefer for your child to continue learning online after the first four weeks or transition to the campus for In-School Learning.

We are excited for you to enroll and prepare for a great school year. All of our required paperwork is listed on the attached documents and available to print at https://www.artsacademics.org/academies/resources/enrollment-registration-documents/. Thank you for printing and filling out these documents. Once complete, they should be emailed to enrollment@mytesa.org by August 5th. If needed, you may wait to bring your child's medical forms when they come back to the campus.

Our fabulous TeSA PTO is collecting funds through August 5th for school supplies. This is a great way to save time and money and make sure your child has everything needed for the year. This one time fee will be used to purchase materials specifically picked out by your child's teachers. See the attached flyer for more information.

Thursday, August 13th, from 2:00-5:30 will be our Drive-Thru Pick Up event! It will be an opportunity for families to pick up materials needed for learning at home during the first few weeks of school. More details about the traffic pattern and specific time frames will be announced next week.

On Thursday, August 13th at 6:00 p.m., we will launch our first ever Virtual Meet the Teacher. Our teachers are working to create video introductions and our administrative team will present important information about our At-Home Learning plan, Google Classroom (3rd-6th grades), and Seesaw (K-2nd grades) to help you and your student navigate the start of the school year. Watch for for the zoom link next week!

Our TeSA Parent Teacher Organization is awesome! We would love for every family to be involved. Although this year may look a little different, we will need your help and want your voice to be heard! On August 7th at 6:30 p.m., there will be a Zoom meeting to greet you and answer questions. Join if you can!

Since the goals of a summer reading assignment are to (1) keep students reading over the summer and (2) to foster a love of reading that will (3) help create life-long readers with (4) an ability to self-select texts for purpose and pleasure, we are offering all students the chance to choose the book(s) they will read for their summer assignments. Students will present a project on one of their chosen books during the first few weeks of school.
