We hope everyone is keeping safe! We know it has been It has been a challenging day for everyone.
Thank you for an informative and fun Co-Curricular night! We hope you were able to find some clubs and offerings your child will be a part of this school year! In case you did not make it, please feel free to browse our Co-Curricular offerings below.
Next week we look to October! Cool-weather and multiple school events await our students and school community. Among the activities, we have a 6th grade movie night headed by our Student Council, a community blood drive, the start of our House Breakfasts, Red Ribbon Week, and of course, Halloween!
Please stay safe and dry over the weekend.

Important Reminder About Bus Safety
Parents, Please Discuss Bus Behavior Expectations with Your Child
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to address a matter of great importance concerning the behavior of some students on our school bus. We have observed repeated instances of disruptive and inappropriate behavior that compromise the safety of all students on board and create an unpleasant environment for everyone involved.
First and foremost, we want to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students during their commute to and from school. To achieve this, we have staffed. The Supervisor of Security is riding the bus this afternoon to reinforce proper bus behavior. We met with students and contacted their parents regarding their behaviors. We have alerted the appropriate building-level staff regarding the behaviors on the bus.
Given recent events, we must establish rules and expectations for all students riding the school bus. These rules are not only for the safety of everyone but also to foster a respectful and positive environment conducive to learning. We kindly request your support in reinforcing these rules at home and discussing their importance with your child.
1. Respect: Treat fellow students, the bus driver, and the school monitors respectfully. Refrain from using offensive language or engaging in behaviors against the School Districtβs Code of Conduct, such as bullying or teasing.
2. Stay Seated: Remain seated whenever possible. If no seats are available, stand and hold onto the bus supports at all times while the bus is in motion. Keep aisles clear of personal belongings, and put bags under the seats of the bus.
3. Keep Noise Levels Down: Maintain a reasonable noise level to ensure a safe and distraction-free environment for the driver.
4. Follow Instructions: Comply promptly with any instructions the bus driver or school monitor gives.
5. No Eating or Drinking
6. No Throwing Objects: Refrain from throwing any objects inside the bus or out of the windows.
7. Keep Buses Clean: Dispose of trash in designated containers and clean the bus.
8. No Horseplay: Do not engage in roughhousing, fighting, or any behavior that endangers others.
9. Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures and cooperate fully in the event of an emergency evacuation.
We believe that by adhering to these rules, our students can have a safe and pleasant bus journey. The presence of a school monitor will help enforce these rules and ensure a positive bus experience for everyone.
We request your assistance in discussing these expectations with your child and emphasizing the importance of respectful and responsible behavior on the school bus. If your child has concerns or encounters issues while riding the bus, please encourage them to communicate with the school monitor or report it to the school administration.
Together, we can create a safer and more pleasant environment for our students during their daily commute. Thank you for your cooperation and support in this matter.

Early Dismissal Procedures
Due to concerns about flooding, many parents opted to pick up their children early. While we understand the concern and respect your right to do so, we want to ensure that all students are safely dismissed. We want to remind you of the procedures used to dismiss students early.
We require official identification for student pick-ups.
If a parent is asking another parent to pick up their child and that person is required to follow the steps listed below.
Please be advised in the event you want or need to pick up your child from school early, please utilize this ALMSattendance@nredlearn.org. Include the following information:
- Student name
- Who is picking up and the relationship
- Parent/Guardian name
- Approximate Time of Pickup
This allows us to ensure that all students are picked up by authorized individuals. While this does slow down the procedure, it ensures safe dismissal.

Chromebook Responsibilities
To ALMS Parents and Students,
As a Middle School student, you are required to come to school with your district-provided chromebook charged. The district-provided chromebook is also your responsibility; if it's in your backpack, locker, on a bus, or at home, you must keep it protected from being damaged or lost/stolen.
Please refer to the AUP and Device Loaner Form, which you have signed with your parent/guardian, and review the terms and conditions listed on the form both inside and outside of school. If you have not already signed the AUP and/or Loaner Form, please click on the link above.
To all parents/guardians, please speak with your child regarding Chromebook care and responsibilities. Some of the computers are damaged due to students spilling liquids, tossing them to the ground during recess, getting knocked around in a backpack, or dropping them. Damaged Chromebooks are subject to fees. You may want to consider purchasing a case as was indicated on the school supply list.
