Looking Ahead
Calendar
November 20-24 : No School - Thanksgiving Break
November 29 : Coffee with the Principal
December 2: Saturday Academy
Dear Families,
We are thankful for you! As we prepare to take time off from school from November 20th-24th for the Thanksgiving break, we are grateful for everyone who has attended school regularly since August. A regular attendance routine is important for your child’s well-being, learning and long-term success. Daily routines are essential for overall student success, including reducing stress and creating a sense of security for students and adults.
Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect with their peers and teachers. Please take steps to keep your child healthy and send them to school unless they are sick. Here is a resource with information: https://www.attendanceworks.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Attendance_Works_Tips_for_Staying_Healthy_103123.pdf.)
We would like to thank:
Our students and their families who do their best to show up to school every day especially when it isn’t easy.
Our teachers who have gone above and beyond to help make school a welcoming learning environment where students can thrive.
Our administrators who help us work together to ensure we are healthy and safe, feel a sense of community and experience the excitement of an engaging learning environment.
Our support staff and parents/guardians and family members who provide the extra hands and attention our children need.
May these days off be restful and healing.
● If your family or your child needs support, please reach out to our FACES, Ms. Neufarth for help at neufarth_m@auhsd.us or call the school at 714-220-4104.

Escape the VAPE
The American Cancer Society Great American Smokeout (GASO) Day is an annual event that encourages smokers to make a plan to quit or to plan in advance and quit smoking on that day. You’d like to quit nicotine------maybe you’ve tried before, but it can feel hard. It is estimated that it takes between eight (8) to ten (10) attempts for the average person to quit smoking or vaping. When trying to quit, support can make all the difference. That’s why the Cancer Society has set Thursday November 16, 2023, as the date for the annual GASO / Escape the Vape Day. Each year, thousands of people across the country use this as their date to QUIT. The American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout event is you

It is very important to do this as you may be using these devices for various courses at our school. Please remind your child every night to charge their devices and pack it in their backpacks for the morning. We very much appreciate your help in this and to help them build these positive habits as they go about this new school year.
Parking Lot Updates
Kennedy High School began a two phase Solar Panel Project in the South (Student) Parking Lot.
This means that a portion of the South Parking Lot will be closed for between 6-8 months.
Therefore, student parking will be limited. It is recommended that students be dropped off at school or carpool with other students. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.
Chrome Books
Students, please make sure you bring your Chromebooks or personal computing devices to school everyday, fully charged and ready to be used. It is very important to do this as you may be using these devices for various courses at our school. In addition, please start building the habit of charging your Chromebooks or personal devices every night to ensure it is ready the day after. It is always greatly appreciated that a student comes prepared.
