A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families and Supporters,
FIRST THINGS FIRST...BIG change to the lunch menu TOMORROW!! We will be having pancakes served with maple syrup from our OWN RES TREES!!!
NOW...
It's that time of year when things start getting BUSY! I will create a TO DO LIST every so often to help you all stay organized.
WALK-A-THON:
Mark your calendar to join us from 8:30-9:45 AM
Email Staci Ryan (sryan@sau50.org) if you are willing to volunteer! Please help your child to collect donations on their pledge page. These can be returned to your child's teacher before the walk-a-thon.
Kindergarten Registration
If you have a child entering Kindergarten at RES for the 2023-2024 school year, please register.

Third Grade Families: HELP!
We are looking for 3-4 family members to help with decorations for the fourth grade Moving On Ceremony on June 14. This would begin a tradition of the third grade families decorating for fourth grade and then having the favor returned the following year! Please email Michelle Pitts if you can help!
Remote Days
Print out the remote weather schedule so you are all set and ready to go if it is needed!
Click here for the remote schedule!
We truly appreciate your support,
Michelle Pitts

Snowshoe Rentals!!!
Through a grant from The Rye Education Foundation (13 years ago) RES purchased several pairs of snowshoes to be used in PE classes and by classroom teachers to take students outside.
As part of that grant we offer families of RES the opportunity to sign out and borrow snowshoes. This is a great way to try it out with your family to see if they are interested before you purchase your own. Snowshoes can be signed out by contacting Mrs. Warden (hwarden@sau50.org) is best.
Please give 24 hours notice (minimum). Snowshoes will be left in the front lobby with a release form.
Both adult and student sizes are available and go by weight. When you request them please let me know how many of each size you need. The sizes are as follows:
Approximate weights
16” snowshoes - 25 - 60 lbs
19” snowshoes - 50 -110 lbs
21” snowshoes - 80 - 160 lbs
25” snowshoes - 120 - 200 lbs
30” snowshoes - 160 - 260 lbs

NEW SECTION: Pick a Project!!!
THIS WEEK...
PROJECT 1: ANYONE!
We are looking for clean, empty chicken feed/bird seed bags.
PROJECT 2: GRADE 3 FAMILIES ONLY
We are looking to build a new tradition. We would love to ask third grade families to be the decorators for the fourth grade "Moving On" ceremony. Of course, next year the future third grade families would return the favor and decorate and provide a treat for the current third graders. These volunteers might send a Sign Up Genuis out to get donations for balloons, a treat, etc... PLEASE email Michelle Pitts if you are willing to help!
PROJECT 3: Walk-a-Thon Volunteers
Email Michelle Pitts if you are interested in being a "marker," one who marks the lap cards as the children complete each lap.

Lunch
- We have really loved having family members in for lunch! We do ask that you meet your child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
- If students do not sign up for hot lunch in the morning in their classrooms they will not be able to get hot lunch in the cafeteria. We understand that children change their minds, but it is difficult to ensure we have enough meals for everyone in the last lunch. THANK YOU!

"LIFE ON A PLATE" HELP-WANTED
NEWSPAPERS: Our drama crew will be involved in a lot of Paper Maché in the coming weeks and we need LOTS of newspaper.
If you’re able, please drop off newspaper at the front office any time during the school day.
BRICK PAINTING COORDINATOR (WE NEED THIS!!!): We’re looking for someone to work with our Directors to lead our "Sponsor Brick Project”.
- This project is the big fundraiser for our program in lieu of doing a full-colored Playbill.
- Members of the community (as well as individuals) may purchase a “Brick” in our main lobby.
- Students will then paint a message and/or graphic on that brick, visible to all who visit.
- Our “Coordinator” will work with us in guiding the Sponsor sign-ups and the painting of the bricks:
- This person can be a teacher, staff member, or a parent; and we can certainly have more than 1 person - more fun working with someone!!
- A Team of parents/students will be assembled using a Sign-Up to go out into the community and signup the sponsors. Based on our experience at RJH re: community support, this should be quite smooth!!
- We’ll also assemble a Team of students (with adult supervision) to design and paint the bricks based on what the sponsors would like.
If you are interested in ANY part of this project please contact Jeffrey at dramawithjeffrey@gmail.com.

Some students in grade one made leprechaun traps, using their engineering and collaboration skills. These were so creative and functional!
We are so proud of Orla and Nora, who displayed their Irish Step Dancing skills in front of a huge audience yesterday. Their bravery and their skills was awe inspiring!
We want to thank the PTA for sponsoring Brian Corcoran, an Irish singer who entertained us with Irish stories and songs. It was so fun!
