A Note from Mr. Lopez!
Greetings Hillcrest Families!
This is just a quick note to say hello to all our Hillcrest families!! I am very happy to be working with your students this year! As we progress through this year, you will hear from me from time to time regarding your student. My calls will be of praise, concern, and information. One of my favorite things to do is connect with our families so the experience at Hillcrest is a positive one. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions or concerns and together we will find solutions. Let's make it a great year, and we will continue to help your students reach their full potential.
Upcoming Dates

Lexia - A Program You Can Use At Home!
Lexia Core 5 is a program that your child uses daily at school. This is a program that meets your child's learning needs according to their reading level. The district encourages that each student completes at least 60 minutes weekly on Lexia. Did you know that your child can do Lexia at home too? If your child brings his/her Chromebook home, this is a great resource to continue learning at home. Click on the links below for more information.

A Message from our PTO:
Mum Orders: Our mum orders will be ready for pick up on September 29 after school. Pick up will be at Hillcrest. This was an AMAZING fundraiser. Our students sold 400 mums which means our PTO will get $2,000 back in return. This money goes towards our school. Way to go, Hornets!
Spirit Night: There will be a spirit night at East Moline Country Style on Monday, September 25th from 5-7pm. This is for the East Moline location only.
Spirit Wear: A Fall Spirit Wear store will be open for fall orders and more information will be sent out soon. Be watching for more information!
Thank you to our PTO for the beautiful pots and flowers that are in front of our school.
Our School Family Goal
Our goal between now and Thanksgiving is to build our student's conflict resolution skills. We are teaching our students that using their words are much powerful than using our hands and feet to solve a problem. Please talk to your child about the importance of this at home. Our goal is to earn 40 pumpkins as a whole school family before Thanksgiving.
