Message From the Principal
Last week our 3rd graders took IREAD. Report cards also came home. We are officially in the 4th quarter of the school year. It is hard to believe year one for Lynwood is almost complete!
In April, 3rd-6th grade students will take ILEARN. Students also took their end of the year NWEA tests last week. Tuesday was our second All Pro Dads event. This event is not limited to dads but is open to all parents and providers. We hope to see you at our April and May event.
We also hope to see you at our April and May PTO meeting. We will begin planning for next year and expanding the team. We want to continue to strengthen the school community relationship.
We have had some awesome things happen at Lynwood these past few weeks. Ms. B had her second positive behavior basketball shootout. Ms. Livingston was announced as our teacher of the year. Mrs. Edwards, Mrs. Bell, and Ms. Wood all received Decatur Township Educational Foundation grants for their classrooms.
Tuesday is our High Ability Showcase for our 3rd-5th grade classrooms. If your student is participating, your child's teacher sent home a flyer and permission slip. On Thursday, we will be selling bags of chips for $1 with proceeds going to teacher classroom needs. There will be no extended day or clubs this week. Extended day will be revamped and when we return from break and your student will receive an invitation and permission slip if they are invited to attend. Lastly, spring break starts on Friday and runs through March 31st. We will see everyone back on April 3rd. We hope you all have a relaxing and fun spring break. If you are traveling, we wish you a safe trip.
With Lynwood Pride,
Jay Lovell
Principal

Culture Guide
E= Events: We cannot control things that happen
R= Response: We can control our response to the event
O=Outcome: Having a proper response will get the desired outcome.
This concept is powerful for all of us. Daily, many things happen that are out of our control. We can lash out or we can pause, think, and then respond. Pausing for reflection allows us to get the outcome that we need and want.
