Market Beef ID Deadline
The market beef ID deadline is fast approaching! This deadline is for those who want to identify and exhibit a beef market animal (beef steer, market beef heifer, dairy steer) with a birthdate of January 1, 2021-August 31, 2021 at the county fair. These animals need to be ear tagged and identified by February 15, 2022.
All other beef animals (breeding heifer, cow/calf/ prospect calf) are identified later.
You can find all of the information about the tagging and ID process here. Ear tags are to be ordered through the google form included in the letter. If you have questions or concerns please let us know.
Douglas County 4-H Open Skate
This event is for any 4-H member interested in getting outdoors with some skating experience or a good sense of balance. Skaters need to provide their own skates (figure or hockey skates) that are sharp and ready to go. Newly purchased skates fresh out of the box are not sharpened. Cowing Robards has used skates and can sharpen skates for pond or outdoor rink skating. Please dress for outdoor weather; there is no warming house.
Please find any weather related announcements on our Facebook page the day of the event. We hope to see you there!

Share the Fun
Share the Fun is an opportunity for youth to experience public speaking, creativity, performing, and working together as a team.
Douglas County 4-H invites youth to create a skit, perform it and video it and submit for judging. We are opening it up to family skits, or club skits, or even youth from different clubs that want to work together to create a skit.
Video submissions are due May 1. Be creative, think outside the box and have some fun with it! Youth may also submit an entry for individual talent which can encompass playing an instrument, singing, dancing, poetry, dramatic reading, and more!
Acts will be evaluated and judges' comments provided. Cash prizes for skits and talent acts awarded! Questions, contact Jodi at hintz010@umn.edu.
