Up-to-date on Immunizations?
The State of Georgia is not requiring students in grade 11 to have the second meningitis shot until 2021-2022. However, they are STRONGLY encouraging that all students get this, along with their other immunizations.
Here is the exact wording from the Department of Public Health:
Should we administer the MCV4 booster dose although the 11th grade requirement has been postponed?
Yes, based on ACIP guidelines, we strongly recommend patients receive the vaccine at the recommended age of 16 years.
This is especially important during a pandemic. So, if your student is not up-to-date with
all shots, now is the time!
You may do this at your physician’s office or at the Department of Health.
Virtual Clinic for Students, Faculty & Staff
Want a virtual Clinic visit with your school nurse? Email me with a date and two or three available times and I will set up a Zoom Clinic Visit. The clinic will be “virtually” open when school is open, Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 3:45 pm! Confidentiality: I will ensure privacy on my end of the computer. It will be up to you to do the same on your end. No recording of Zoom clinic visits!
