Mill Valley Weekly

For the month of January, we will be focusing on showing acts of kindness throughout the school. We shared with our students how they can be the I in KIND. Each morning on the announcements we will give students ideas of ways to show kindness. We will be focusing on giving out paw prints specifically for being kind and Buddy Packs will be challenged to come up with some acts of kindness for others. We look forward to seeing all the kindness in our school. At the end of the month, we will have Kindness Spirit Week to celebrate all the ways that we are kind. CLICK HERE for details.

Thinking Students...Changing the World!

The Winter Recess Expectations have been reviewed by all of our students to ensure recess in the snow is SAFE and FUN for everyone!

Here are a few other reminders...

• students need BOTH snow pants AND boots to play in the snow
• send extra socks & mittens in case they get wet during the first recess
• we will have outdoor recess unless the temperature is zero or below with wind-chill

Muskego-Norway Schools invites you to participate in a three part parent education series on the prevention of Alcohol and Other Drug Addictions in youth. Click HERE To learn more about this educational series. Featured presentations are as follows:

January 10th ~ Michelle Hampton: Therapist at Rogers Child and Adolescent Center

February 22nd ~ Your Choice, Wake Up Call: Learn to Spot the Signs of Alcohol and Drug Use

March 17th ~ Muskego Police Department: Community Impact of Substance Use

All presentations will be held at the Performing Arts Center, located on the south end of Muskego High School. Additionally, presentations will be recorded and shared on the District’s website.

Please continue to submit the COVID-19 Symptom or Status Notification for any of the following:

• Tests positive for COVID-19

• Has been diagnosed with COVID-19

• Has symptoms of COVID-19

• Has been identified as a Close Contact to a person that has tested positive for COVID-19

Sing! Dance! Act! Join Character Kids for a fun-filled after school theater class at Mill Valley on Wednesdays, 3:50 - 4:50 pm. This 8-week session runs January 26th - March 16th. Students will learn the basics of acting, singing and musical theater dance while having a lot of fun! Parents are invited to a special performance on the last day of class. Focus is put on developing imagination, social skills and a positive self image through the performing arts. CLICK HERE for more info or to register.

This year we are partnering with SchoolStore.com to raise funds for essential tools our students and teachers need to succeed at Mill Valley Elementary. SchoolStore’s program is 100% online. We are looking for 4th grade parents that would like to get involved with planning the 4th Grade End of Year Celebration.
