Why do I need to change my password on my computer?

You can help keep your computer more secure by changing your Windows password regularly, and by using a strong password.


  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Change a password.
  2. Type your old password, type your new password, type your new password again to confirm it, and then press ENTER.

Why does our Goose Creek CISD Password Expire?

To protect users identity and the security of the network, The Technology Department requires us to change our password every 6 months. If your password is expired, the only way to change your password is on a GOOSE CREEK Computer. You can't change a password at home.


Remember your password must be at least 8 characters, have a capital letter, lowercase letter, a number and/or a symbol. Password can't be your name or be a previously used password.

Make sure to update your phone and iPad

You must change your password on all mobile devices. This can be found in the settings.

Make sure to manually change your password before you leave for summer or Christmas break. If your password expires while you are not at the campus, you will not be able to view email at home until you get back to the campus and change it. To avoid disruption, please change your password before you leave the campus.
