Attendance Matters!
Showing up to school greatly impacts a student's academic success. Families play a crucial role in ensuring that a student gets to school safely and on time daily. We understand that absences are unavoidable, such as illness or medical appointments. Please call in advance if your child will not be in school.

Counselor Corner
Hi Little Eagles!!
We have had a great start to the year, its been so nice to see all your smiling faces.
In September I will be visiting each classroom as a refresher of what I do and how I can support students. I will also be completing minute meetings. This is where I meet 1 on 1 with each student for a quick hello to get to know them. I am so very excited to learn a little more about each of your little eagles that I have not had the pleasure to know, and visit with all that I have previously known!
This month CES & CUES will also roll out Character Strong - Purposeful People our new social emotional curriculum. Keep a look out for fun parent letters within our Smore and on social media to help you engage with your student more at home on the topic of the month.
As always, please feel free to reach out if you are in need of resources or if there is a way I can support your student as we move into the new school year.
I can be reached at: ashley.phelps@myeagles.org or 517-769-8557.
Nurse's Corner
Healthy brains and healthy bodies are vital to learning. If you ask most students who come into the nurse’s office for one reason or another, my advice is often the same, “Drink water, and lots of it!” Being well hydrated, along with eating well-balanced meals and being physically active, will help students feel better, think better and learn better!
Here are 7 Habits of Healthy Kids to get the school year started off on the right track:
1. Practice good hygiene by WASHING YOUR HANDS especially before and after you eat!
2. Stay energized by eating nutritious meals and snacks. Eat a healthy breakfast every morning!
3. Get a good night’s rest. School aged children need at least 8-10 hours of sleep per night.
4. EXERCISE! Run, walk, stretch and play!
5. Brush your teeth and floss every day!
6. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze to keep from spreading germs.
7. Make good choices for a happy, healthy, YOU!
** Please send an extra change of clothes for your child to keep at school, accidents happen!
Medication Reminder!
If your student has an allergy or food preference you would like us to abide by here at school, please contact me so I can make our kitchen staff aware.
Any other questions, you can contact me at paige.schlegel@myeagles.org
