Thank you to the FAST Family PTO for an amazing teacher appreciation week! The gratitude expressed to the teachers and staff was beyond measure. From breakfast to massages, gift cards and hand written notes, ice cream, tacos and so much more every single person at FAST was recognized by the PTO for the work they do for your students.

Special thanks to the outgoing PTO board members who have served tirelessly over the years of their tenure. Their dedication to the FAST community is one of the many things that makes this school special. We appreciate all you have done. Thank you.

As we are preparing for graduation ceremonies for our students, a few of our teachers are celebrating graduations of their own. Last weekend, Ms. Felicia Jones, kindergarten paraprofessional graduated earning her B.S. in Education. This weekend, Ms. Tacardra Lunnon will receive her Masters in Elementary Education as she graduates from Mercer University, and third grade teacher, Ms. Rebekah Hensley just completed her TAG certification. We are so proud of both of all of them!

If you were unable to make it to FAST last Friday for the Cultural Arts Festival, you missed an amazing event. More than 300 students and their families toured the world in Student Hall tasting foods from around the world and admiring the student art work adorning the halls. Meanwhile, Innovation Hall was full of music and dancing. Mr. Hendry led each elementary class through music performances and many other students performed cultural dance and music.

The rain held out for the students to enjoy the first half of Field Day, but the students didn't seem to mind when the rain fell. Students participated in a variety of outdoor activities including tug-o-war, relay races and art activities. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders may have gone home a little wet, but they were all smiles. We are so appreciative of the many parent volunteers who helped make it a successful event despite the spontaneous downpour. The students had a blast! Please encourage your students to check the lost and found for any items they are missing. Our racks are full of jackets, hoodies, and sweaters. Items not claimed will be donated.

All medication left in the clinic after school dismisses on May 25, 2023 will be disposed of. Please pick up your child’s medication from the clinic. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nurse Murray at victoria.murray@fastk8.org.
