Welcome Kay & Master Mary!
Regional Happenings
A warm welcome to Lady O as our new Northeast Regional Representative. A veritable pillar of the northeast community, she is the current Director of MAsT: DC Pan and the MTTA Academy. Congratulations to both Lady O and the region which could not be in better hands!
From the MAsT CEO
Hello MAsT Chapters and members! Here we are, through Spring and coming up on Summer soon. It looks like this Summer will be very different from last year, and that should be a good thing! I hope that you all will continue to be safe and well.
Thank you to each of you for all that you've done in the prior year to keep your chapter alive and going! I know it hasn't been easy, but we've made it and looking forward to what's ahead.
For MAsT: International, we are focused on fulfilling our mission of supporting you, the Chapters, the lifeblood and reason we are here. We've held our Annual General Meeting in March as a virtual meeting, where we got lots of great feedback on what your thoughts were on our mission and what you need from us. From those notes, we devoted our April meeting to going through the suggestions and coming up with action items. The website will be improved, we are looking at ways of assisting the chapters with issues and concerns and of increasing our education.
As always, if there is anything that you need, reach out to your Regional Representatives first, as they are your best bet to getting a fast response geared towards your region and community.
Take care and thank you again for what you do!
Master Michael
CEO/Chair, MAsT: International

Member Spotlight: Master Hoss & slave lorelei
• How many years have you been in power exchange relationships?
Master Hoss – Without counting the vanilla relationships I had before coming into the scene around 2000, all of my relationships formed within the time I’ve been in the kink community have been defined with power exchange in one way or another. Some part time, some bedroom only and full time power exchange relationships. I have been, and probably will be again, in relationships as a boyfriend, Dominant, Daddy, Sir and Master as ‘titles’.
slave lorelei - I think that every relationship is a power exchange of some sort or another, but I have been in relationships that were focused on Power Exchange since around 2000.
• How long have you been a MAsT member? What are your role(s) in MAsT?
Master Hoss – I joined MAsT around 2010 as a member. In my time with MAsT Houston, I have been the director for four years, stepped down and rejoined leadership as a Co-Director with Niho Mano a little over a year ago. As I’m sure lorelei will tell you, I don’t do much of the work, I have a slave for that. *laugh*
slave lorelei - I have been a MAsT member since around 2012. I belonged to MAsT Mass, MAsT Austin and now, MAsT Houston. I am slave to the co-director. So i slave and i do things :)
• What benefits have you found being a member of MAsT?
Master Hoss – MasT gave me insight to the minds of various power exchange theories and seeing them in practice. As I progressed and learned more it gave me access to peers with whom I can bounce ideas and issues with. It has given me the ability to see how others do these things and consider what that means. I have yet to be part of a MAsT meeting where I did not walk away with things to mull over and consider.
slave lorelei - MAsT helped me realize that who i am and what i do is not completely crazy. Giving over my power to someone else is a precious and vulnerable trust thing. Being around "my people" has helped me grow in who i am.
• What are some of the highlights in your power exchange journey?
Master Hoss – Well, admitting to myself that was what I wanted, or needed, was a big one. Finding my own way in organic power exchange, and of course cementing my relationship with lorelei as my only collared slave in my time within the greater kink community.
slave lorelei - When my Master collared and marked me as His. The bond we share was solidified.
• What’s a low moment in your power exchange journey and how did you recover or what did you learn from it?
Master Hoss - *whistles* that’s digging a bit deep from what I usually share with the general public. *laugh* There are two that come to mind, one based in betrayal and the other was more about my lack of sight. One ended in divorce, the other with lots of discussion, talking, and changing the way I do things. I am mostly a private person, so that’s about the extent I’m willing to share.
slave lorelei - Ooh that's a tough one. We went through a rough patch that sent me spiraling into a dark place in my head and i had a breakdown. i felt like my trust in Him was broken. Fighting our way back from it, i learned my value. i learned that i am strong. And i learned that intention is important in everything we do.
• What’s an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?
Master Hoss – I love cover music, and don’t tell anyone, but I’m a HUGE fan of Glee. Not the show, just the music.
slave lorelei - One of my guilty pleasures is teen fiction.
• Do you have any advice for people new to power exchange relationships or new chapter directors?
Master Hoss – Take your time, and allow the power exchange to build more organically. Don’t try and fit someone into your life and your power exchange with those preconceived notions of what the power exchange should be.
slave lorelei - For people new to Power Exchange - take your time. Belonging to someone is so much more than just a collar. Know who You are with. Find out if they are someone that has the same values and beliefs that you do. If they will be making decisions for you, it is important that your wills are aligned.
For new Directors - What do you drink? lol
• What’s your favorite quote and why?
Master Hoss – “Very much indeed of what we call moral education is such an artificial modification and perversion of instinct; pugnacity is trained into courageous self-sacrifice, and suppressed sexuality into religious emotion.” - HG Wells
Why? I think it speaks to what we do and it’s lack of acceptance in society. Things haven’t changed much at all in over 150 years.
slave lorelei - “Keep me rather in this cage, and feed me sparingly, if you dare. Anything that brings me closer to illness and the edge of death makes me more faithful. It is only when you make me suffer that I feel safe and secure. You should never have agreed to be a god for me if you were afraid to assume the duties of a god, and we know that they are not as tender as all that. You have already seen me cry. Now you must learn to relish my tears.― Pauline Réage
This is so HOT! And it reminds me that in our world, He is my god. And He does love to make me suffer. And giving Him my tears does bring me closer to Him. Heightens my devotion.
• Anything else you’d like to add?
Master Hoss – Be patient, in this age and time of instant gratification people tend to dive into things quickly and expect results in no time. That works great for many things, not so much for interpersonal relationships.
