Dialing it down?
As we wrap up this first few weeks of school, District wide we are finding that cell phones are as big a problem as ever. Despite our efforts to closely monitor phone use, we have had multiple incidents already this year that end up taking up quite a bit of our time. Other schools dealing with these same issues have already banned cell phones completely. Before we take such a drastic measure, we would like to get some feedback from parents about whether or not you would support further restrictions. Please fill out this quick survey to let us know what you think. https://forms.gle/GKCFuv3Rtd88gtR67
Regardless of whether or not we implement further restrictions, we ask that you please support us in the following ways:
1. Please do not text students during class and if you do, please let them know they need to wait to answer at a time when they are allowed to do so. If it is an emergency, please call the front office at 575-527-6059.
2. Please call the front office to arrange for picking up students.
3. Finally, the policy is that phones are only to be used when teachers give specific permission to do so. Otherwise, the phone will be turned in to the front office and given back to the student at the end of the day. Please remind your student of this policy.
