Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday at our annual CMS Open House! It was great to see everyone enjoy walking our wonderful facility and meeting our wonderful staff! This past week was the first week of Quarter 2, so you will begin to see grades come through PowerSchool for your students in the next week if there haven't been some already. Please help us in encouraging your student to get off to a great start for the second quarter!

Crawfordsville High School will be participating in a reunification drill on October 15th. The reunification site for the high school is Crawfordsville Middle School. This drill will occur in the morning, so you will notice more "activity" than normal during this time. We encourage you to avoid making appointments to have your student pulled from school, as this may be difficult with the drill taking place. CHS looks to complete our entire district practicing this safety drill of reunification and we look forward to what we will learn from this safety drill. If you have students at CHS and would like to participate in the drill please contact CHS for further information.

October 21st through October 25th - No School

Please come out and see our talented CMS choirs on October 16th at 7:00 at CHS. The CHS choirs will also be performing. They have worked hard leading up to their concert and our choirs always put on a show you don't want to miss!

The CMS Fall Carnival will be on October 29th from 4:30 - 6:30. There will be games and activities for all ages, as well as pizza and other food served. A Halloween dance will follow for CMS students only from 6:30-7:30.

This is a reminder that the 8th grade class will be traveling to Springfield, Illinois to visit the Lincoln Museum, tomb, and home. Students will be leaving early that morning and getting back later than normal. They can take their phones on this trip, so long as they are not out at the historic sites or as otherwise directed. Return time will be around 8:00. This is an excellent experience and we look forward to our 8th graders having an excellent time learning about President Lincoln!

If you did not come to our Open House and receive a hard copy of your child's quarter 1 grade report we emailed these home last Friday. If you did not receive this in email please contact our main office to make sure PowerSchool is updated appropriately for your contact information.

CMS is looking to hire a Diving coach for the CMS swim team for the winter swim season. If you know of anybody who would be interested in this position please contact the main office and ask for Mrs. Haas, CMS Athletic Director.

All CCSC schools are looking to hire more substitute teachers. If you or anybody you know is interested please contact central office at 765-362-2342.

We want to remind parents that our spirit shirts are for sale in the front office for students for $25. These shirts are for students only and serve as an athletic pass for ALL home athletic events.

Parents and family members can purchase single or family passes for the games at the front office as well. These passes will get you into all regular season home events.
