Dear RSU 57 Community,

The onset of a new school year brings with it a renewed sense of purpose and opportunity. As we begin this new school year, I wish to extend a sincere welcome to our entire school community. Our partnership with families forms the cornerstone of our work with students. A strong school-to-home partnership is a key component of a successful school experience for students.

Much has happened over the course of the summer in preparing for the return of students. I would like to express profound gratitude to all district staff who have diligently prepared our schools for opening day. I’d like to single out our facilities and custodial departments for their efforts. Their hard work over the summer has ensured that our facilities are ready to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment.

As we embark on this new school year, our aspirations are focused on providing a positive learning experience for each student. We are committed to fostering an atmosphere where intellectual curiosity is cultivated, individual talents are nurtured, and academic goals are achieved.

The success of our students is a shared responsibility, and together we will strive to create a community that values collaboration, integrity, and sets high expectations for all. Our vision for the coming year is one of growth, achievement, and continuous improvement.

As we look to the future of RSU 57, our district’s Strategic Planning Committee and our district leadership team are prepared to share a draft of the newly created Strategic Plan to our community for one final round of feedback. We are pleased to announce a Community Forum scheduled for August 28 at 7pm in the auditorium at Massabesic High School. This forum presents an opportunity for stakeholders to provide valuable feedback. Your insights and perspectives are essential to our planning process, and we encourage your participation.

In conclusion, I invite you to join us in embracing the opportunities and challenges of the new school year. With your support and engagement, we will continue to advance our mission of “Preparing students for success in an ever-changing world.”

The RSU 57 Strategic Planning Committee is pleased to announce our 2nd Community Forum to be held on August 28, 2023 at 7pm at Massabesic High School Auditorium. The Committee has targeted this date as we have several school Open House events taking place earlier that same evening and the hope is limit the number of evenings families are having to be out. The Forum will be an opportunity for parents, guardians, community members, students and staff to review the draft of the Strategic Plan and provide the committee with important feedback prior to a draft plan being shared with the RSU 57 School Board. The RSU 57 Strategic Plan will set the goals and initiatives that will drive the future of education in RSU 57. The Strategic Planning Committee wants to hear from our greater RSU 57 community to ensure the finalized plan captures the community's hopes, aspirations and priorities to the greatest extent possible.

We look forward to hosting our RSU 57 community on August 28 at 7pm at the Massabesic High School Auditorium.

This summer, the RSU 57 Nutrition Department successfully served over 29,000 meals to students and families as part of their "Free Summer Meals" Program. We are so grateful for our wonderfully dedicated Summer Food Service Staff who made it all possible. (Pictured below)

On August 17, the RSU 57 Administrative Team (pictured below) toured the District's school buildings and facilities via bus in preparation for the start of the school year! This opportunity allowed our new and returning administrative staff to better understand the community they serve and share in their students' experiences.
