THE STRENGTH OF THE WOLF IS ITS PACK
October 27, 2023
Wasco Families,
Here is an exciting learning story to share! Our fourth-grade text for Reading guided students to explore the question: How can starting a business help others? As part of the learning, the students in this small group prepared presentations that explained various aspects of small business. Surprised? I was! Examples of the information shared were: registering a business, choosing a business structure, selecting your location, and what education is needed. If you give kids a challenge, they will exceed your expectations!
Kind Regards,
Principal Brennan

Screening for D303 Strategic Plan Core Value: Belonging
On the last student attendance Monday of each month starting this October 30th we will be collecting information about the D303 Strategic Plan Core Value of Belonging. This will be in the form of four to five questions for students in grade levels three through twelve. If you would like to preview the form they are available on the https://district.d303.org/departments/assessment page. Scroll to the D303 Feedback and Surveys link, click, and read the section on Strategic Plan Core Value - Sense of Belonging Check in. The monthly collection of information on this core value will be used to better understand the current and evolving state of student belonging and consider areas for improvement.
A specific opt out form for the D303 Strategic Plan Core Value - Belonging Check in has been posted on the Objections website and parents can access it through the button below. Please be sure to complete the form and turn it in to Mrs. Brennan by Tuesday, October 31st.
3rd and 5th Grades: Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT)
Between November 6 and November 17, 2023, 3rd and 5th graders will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). The test consists of three sections, 90 minutes of total test time, broken into nine 10-minute tests.
Wasco Families,
Our Wasco Community is preparing to honor Veterans. Do You Know a Veteran or Military Service Member? If so, your family is invited to share this veteran’s history in our all school Veteran Slideshow. Please click the link below for the process. Also, you are welcome to invite a friend, neighbor, or family member who is or has served in our Armed Forces to our Veteran’s Day Assembly on November 10th at 2:00. We would be honored if they could attend our ceremony and we want to show our appreciation in person. Details for sign up below. All Veteran form submissions are due on/by Nov. 7.
Earning lunch at the VIP table continues to be a huge hit - especially with 4th grade students! When students earn 100 Wasco Bucks they earn the opportunity to invite a friend to sit with them at the special table to enjoy a quiet, yet special lunch, complete with really cool sunglasses and a Jolly Rancher. We are so proud of our Wasco Wolves and their dedication to demonstrating excellent behavior across their day! Positive reinforcement really does make a difference!
