Second Semester Schedule Changes Procedures
Attention Students:
If you are requesting a class change for 2nd semester, you need to complete a blue "Request for Class Change" form. You only need signatures from the teacher's whose classes are affected by your change(e.g.-the class you are dropping and the class you are adding if the class is offered during the same period). These forms also need a parent/guardian signature. The sooner these are turned in, the sooner the schedule change will take place. If I do not receive a completed form before we leave for winter break, you will be expected to follow your schedule as listed in Skyward when we return in January.
Food Classes Experience Authentic Mexican Tortas
Last week in our sandwiches unit, food class made authentic Mexican Tortas with the guidance of classmates Marisol Rodriguez. Marisol worked with her mom to create the recipe, help Mrs. McClarey with purchasing ingredients, and was a leader on lab day by helping the class prepare the Tortas like her family does at home. Mrs. McClarey said "This was one of my all time favorite Foods Class experiences/memories."
We may have found a new class favorite lab!
Spanish Club outing to AZTECA
We had a great time at AZ-T-CA for our final hora de conversación of the semester.

NBHS Student Council Announces October and November Students of the Month
NBHS Student Council Announces October and November Students of the Month
New Berlin Student council is proud to share October and November Students of the Month.
October: Morgan Bandelow
This is what their teachers had to share about them:
Morgan has done a wonderful job in the STEP program. She works two different jobs at a dog groomer and at a toy store. At the groomers she started cleaning and they saw her potential to have her start working with the animals as well. She is kind and a hard worker. At the toy store Morgan moves on to tasks when she is done. Morgan showed such good responsibility at the program that they have pulled her job coach to help other students. She is on time to work each day. In my classroom, Morgan is a leader doing tasks and helping whenever needed. She sees when help is needed in cleaning the room and will make an effort before anyone asks. She is such a joy to have in class!
November: Lauren Klump
This is what their teachers had to share about them:
Lauren is always so nice to have in class. She is friendly to everyone, always offering to help others and myself with things in the room, and always has a great attitude. On top of her being super caring, she's also a really talented artist who always has her work done on time.
Lauren always tells me to have a good day when class is over. She's caring and kind. Even if she is struggling with a concept in class, she stays positive and does her best. When confused, she asks for help.

Help!!! My student is struggling!!!
If your child is at-risk for failing or failing a class, there is still plenty of time to turn things around! High school students earn credits based on their semester grade using this formula: 40% of their Q1 grade + 40% of their Q2 grade + 20% of their Semester Exam grade.
So, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the academic supports we have in place for students that are struggling.
8th Hour Advisory Tutoring – Our National Honor Society students offer peer tutoring from during Advisory. Please contact your child's teacher, Mr. Viola, or me and we will get them signed up for tutoring!
After School Support –There is a staff member available to help your child from 3:30-4:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with homework. Please contact me if you want your child to take advantage of this support.
HW/Lunch Detention – Students that are missing several assignments or major projects may be assigned to a homework lunch detention until they have all missing work completed and are passing all of their classes.
- High School HW Advisory Academic Support– High school students may be assigned to a homework advisory detention until they have all missing work completed and are passing all of their classes.
Please be sure to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences! If you are unable to attend, please email your child's teacher with any concerns that you may have.
