Parking Lot Safety
We have two Student Drop Off/Pick-Up Areas:
- K-5 Student Drop Off (Primary Entrance) and
- 6-7 Student Drop Off (Rear Parking Lot).
If you drop-off/pick-up at the Primary Entrance there are two lanes of traffic. The left lane will be restricted for buses. The right lane will be for parent/guardian vehicles.
All cars arriving at the school will stay parked in a line until it is safe to move to the drop off area. Children should exit vehicles from the left-hand side onto the side walk and not walk through moving vehicles. Please respect signs indicating No Parking Areas. Once all the students have exited their cars and are making their way to their cohort doors, the cars will be permitted to leave the drop off/pick-up area and the next group of cars can move in.
Once classes begin at 8:15 a.m. students arriving late to school will use the front entrance of the school.

Help Kids Stay Safe Online: Tips for Families
Parents and guardians need to be active participants in their child’s online activities and we encourage families to take this as an opportunity to have intentional conversations with their children about what they encounter online. These discussions could include:
- Reminding children to never contact strangers online, on any platform;
- Reminding children to only be friends online with people they actually know;
- Encourage children to share any worries or concerns with you;
- Ensure children understand the importance of not giving personal information to anyone they do not know;
- Tell children no-one has the right to make them do anything they do not want to do;
- Set privacy systems on devices with your child as a way to have the conversation about safety.
You are the best defense for your children and their online experiences. It is important for parents to know what children can access online. We have the following suggestions for families:
- Set privacy settings for all social media and gaming applications;
- Keep video games and YouTube watching in shared family spaces;
- Set up video game restrictions to friends only;
- Set up “restricted” mode on YouTube for your child’s account so inappropriate content is not available to them.
- Other resources can be found at
- Social Media Privacy Settings resource
We encourage you to have this important conversation with your child, remain an active participant in your child’s online activities.

What will happen if a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19? Will the school community be notified?
As of December, 2020, the case management process related to potential exposure to Covid-19 in a school setting has been formalized by provincial public health authorities. The document, Covid-19 Exposure, Case and Outbreak Management in School Setting, is available on both the District’s School Reopening website and the Provincial Government’s Life with Covid-19 website.
