New Transfer Bus Procedure Information
AAA Parents/Guardians please reference the NEW transfer bus procedure language that was included in your back to school packet and in the 2023-24 student handbook.
New: High school classes are in session until 4:00 each day and therefore unable to serve and supervise elementary students as a bus transfer stop or car pickup line.
New: K-6 students that ride the Transfer bus to the HS, will need to ensure arrangements have been made in advance.
The only two reasons why an elementary student would need to be be on the transfer bus to the high school are:
1) elementary student needs to connect with high school sibling in commons area when bell dismisses to walk home
OR
2) elementary student needs to connect with high school sibling in commons area when bell dismisses to ride home
In either occurrence, high school sibling(s) will be required to sign out elementary sibling each day with administrator on duty in the commons area before leaving.
There should not be parents/guardians needing to connect with elementary students at the high school inside the building or at the bus unloading zone.
Parents/guardians needing to solely transport elementary students should plan to do so at the elementary school.
This new protocol will greatly improve the safety of the elementary transfer students and ensure they connect with their high school sibling(s) INSIDE the high school building. A signature will be required of the high school sibling(s) showing their issued school ID name badge daily.
Please contact Rachel Carethers, Elementary Principal, if you need clarification for your student or have questions concerning the elementary transfer bus.
