Attendance
Please remember to send your students to school unless they are sick! We have wonderful attendance today! Over 95% of students are at school today! Keep up the good work! We are over the January hump, so hopefully as the weather begins to warm up, students will not get sick as easily. Sending students with a slight cough or a runny nose is ok. If they have a fever, are vomiting or have diarrhea, they must stay home until symptoms have stopped without the help of medication,
Performance Auditions Coming Soon
Our after school program, Empowering Possibilities Unlimited, is working with Northern California School of the arts to bring Finding Nemo, the musical, to James Marshall. All students are welcome to audition!
Audition Workshop: February 21st: 3:15-4:45 PM and February 22nd: 2:15-3:45 PM
Audition Dates/Times: February 27th, 28th: 3:15-4:45 PM
Callbacks: February 29th , 2:15-3:45 PM
Rehearsal Dates: Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 3:15-4:45 PM; Thursdays: 2:15-3:45 PM
Audition Location: James Marshall Elementary Cafeteria Performances: May 9th at 4:30 PM & May 10th at 4pm and 6pm

Parent Teacher Conferences
The second trimester will be coming to an end in the month of March. Parent Teacher conferences will be scheduled from March 15 through March 22. All students will be on an early dismissal schedule.
Kindergarten dismissal time remains the same (12:20)
Primary (1st through 3rd grade) dismissal time is 1:15
Intermediate (4th through 6th grade) dismissal time is 1:19
Security Gate
Please remember our gates are locked to visitors during the instructional day. If you need to have your child dismissed early, please allow enough time to call the office to be let in and have your child pulled out of class. Sometimes this takes a few minutes, so please be patient.
Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment is a process you must use in order to enroll your student in a school that is not your neighborhood school. If you plan on doing this (either you moved and are no longer in the James Marshall attendance area, or are looking at attending another school) you must complete the process on line using the district's website. The Open Enrollment window opens on February 5, and closes on Friday, February 23. If you miss this window, you must wait for the permit window to open in April or May.
CSUS Reader's Program
As the CSUS students begin their spring semester, we will be sending out permission slips for students to attend the before school Reader's Program. Please remember this program is designated for students who need extra support with basic reading skills. Please be sure to turn in your child's permission slip as soon as possible or their spot may be given to someone else!
