Monthly Celebrations: Trait: Integrity
Teacher of the Month: Nathan Allison
Mr. Allison has always held us up to great standards, and has acted as a strong example of being a caring, insightful, and perceptive individual while maintaining a balance between concern and playfulness. He has made sure to create an environment where everyone can be our true selves, and learn from other’s insights on topics. - Akshaj Sunkara
Mr. Allison has created a warm and welcoming learning environment for psychology. His class has been my favorite this year, not only because psychology is my favorite subject but Mr. Allison has made the class very entertaining to learn in, helping my developing “fluid memory,” as we learned in psych, to retain and recall his lessons. His honesty and relatability with the class, while remaining as an overseeing adult, makes it easier for more timid students like myself to actively participate during presentations. - Lisa Fontaine
Paraprofessional of the Month: Kristen Herndon
Kristen has been the perfect addition to our para team. She came in, questioned her life decisions, but decided to stick around anyway! We are so lucky to have her. She is so kind and compassionate and has such a bleeding heart for all those kiddos who may get overlooked or lost in the shuffle. She's a stickler for the rules so when it comes to entering attendance, she's an exact fit. She's funny, doesn't take herself too seriously and is always good for a quick laugh. She's been my friends for years so having her as a co-worker is just the icing on the cake.
Congrats, Kristen! This recognition is so deserved! -Amy Praytor
Kristen is new to our campus, but she has made a big impact this year. There are very few individuals who understand the amount of work and the massive amount of information that Kristen sifts through on a daily basis, and she does it so well. Kristen work touches every corner of the work we do at Coppell High School, from supporting students, to teachers, to admin, to parents. However, more than just being excellent at her job, Kristen’s approach and attitude are what make her stand out. She is kind, caring, smart as a whip, and I can always count on her to laugh with me about the more “creative” absence requests. I am so grateful for Kristen and that I get to work with her every day! - Taylor Smith-Bothun
Students of the Month
Grade 10: Lillian Tainter
Lilly is someone that takes personal and academic integrity seriously. She is someone who puts her best effort into all things and holds herself to the highest standards in class and in her extra-curricular activities! She is a bright light at CHS and CHS is a better place with Lilly as a member of the student body. Connor Blake
Grade 10: Rajiv Anandkumar
Rajiv is coaching our middle school Special Olympics basketball team every Monday night! He is so encouraging to all of our athletes and make them feel loved! We love Rajiv! Coach Taylor Mounce
Grade 11: Ceyhan Dorris
Grade 11: Ankitha Ravi
Ankitha is in my IB Economics class. She is really good about pushing herself. Although she has struggled at times, she has persevered. Ankitha is always willing to come in and get help and ask questions. She has improved so much this year and is doing well. She recently got an A on test, due to her hard work. I am so proud to have Ankitha in my class and see her diligence towards success. - Ryan Linniger
Grade 12: Sweetie Ansah
Sweetie is an amazing young lady who is part of our Red Jackets, Black Student Union and the Hope Squad class. She is always willing and ready to help with whatever needs to be done. She is a team player and looks for ways to make CHS a better place for all students. She doesn't wait to be asked she just sees a need and works to fill it. Sweetie prides herself in being inclusive and hasn’t met a person that she cannot call a friend. - Cheryl Abreu
Grade 12: Mikail Bhatty
Mikail is the ideal young person, who sees a need and steps in to help. He visits me in the front office every day and always goes above and beyond to help in any way he can! He helps with calling students out of class for dismissal and delivers boxes all day every day. Mikail isn’t even an office Aide! I am grateful for his help and the way he holds himself to a higher standard. - Melinda Hiles
