As we finish up these last few weeks of the 21-22 school year, I hope you take some time to slow down and enjoy every moment. I hope you enjoy the growth your child has made, the friendships built, and the exciting anticipation of summer and new beginnings.

To the staff at Lakeview, thank you for the support, flexibility, and grace so many of you shared with not only myself, but with one another as well. Thank you for the hard work put in these past two years. Thank you for showing up each and every day for the betterment of students, despite the challenges a global pandemic brought your way. Thank you for the lessons, friendships, and humbling experiences. I will miss so much of the building, staff, and students next school year.

To the families at Lakeview, thank you for your continued display of grace and compassion. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we navigated through one of the hardest, most unpredictable times of our lives. Thank you for supporting students and staff always!

Lastly, to the Solon Community, thank you for being a part of my growth journey as a person, mother, and administrator. Thank you for helping me grow in humility and grace. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's educational experience, and for welcoming my own children into the community with such kindness. I will not forget my time here, nor will I take for granted the many lessons learned.

Parents and families of Lakeview and SIS students - Order your school supplies hassle-free for the 2022-2023 school year! The PTO has organized an online school supply order - simply order at the link below, or through the order form coming home in folders soon. Online orders will go through May 30, paper forms and checks must be turned in no later than May 25. Supplies will be available to pick up just before school starts in August. Email notifications for student sick absences and drop off/pick up changes to the newly created front office email address (listed below), along with your child(ren)'s classroom teacher. This will ensure that all necessary parties are in the know of your child's absence and/or transportation changes.

Attention current 2nd grade parents:

All students entering 3rd grade (2022-2023 school year) are required to have a completed vision certificate on file.

A screening will be valid if completed no earlier than 1 year prior to the first day of school and no later than 6 months after the first day of school.

Here is the state vision screening certificate. The certificate can be faxed to 319-624-4176.

IMPORTANT BASP INFORMATION

April 18– 22 / Summer 2022 & Fall 22-23 Registrations

Summer program begins June 6th and ends on August 5th and is held at Lakeview. The program (excluding our PK and incoming fall ‘22 K students) takes field trips three times per week (M, W, F), which includes the Tipton pool and the Mt. Vernon pool. The program offers breakfast, hot lunch and snack. Each summer the program participates in the wonderful Beef Days parade, a local tradition! Come join for a summer of fun and memories!

The Fall 22-23 program begins on the first day of school, August 23rd. All students attend the program at Lakeview, including Intermediate and Middle school age. Don’t miss this opportunity for your child to enjoy a fun and safe place to spend their time before or after school.
