We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break and that your student is ready for a final push to end the semester. There are many opportunities for your student to seek out help as 1st semester grades are coming to an end.
Opportunities for Student Help
* Tutorial Time every Tuesday and Thursday
A great opportunity during the school day! Your student just needs to sign up for the Teacher they
need help.
* This past week, we launched Open Library Nights where out library is open from 3:15-4:45pm. During this time, there are teachers available to help students should they need, but most importantly, this is great place for your student to complete homework, makeup work, or just have a quiet place to work...but also FREE Tutoring from teachers here at La Mesa! We will be able to offer 2 more of these this semester: Monday, December 5 and Monday, December 12.
Listed in this Weekly Update you will see that there is a lot of exciting things happening at La Mesa and in our valley. We hope you enjoy and are able to take advantage of any opportunity.

Minimum Days Coming Up
December 8
8th Grade Hearing Screening
Hello La Mesa Families,
Please note that Thursday, December 8, 2022 will be our annual Hearing Screening event for all 8th-graders.
All 8th-grade students will be summoned during the day to complete the brief hearing screening exam.
Please ensure your child brings his/ her prescription hearing aids if they have them to school.
Also, please note that Thursday, December 8, 2022 will also be a Minimum Day with dismissal at 12:45 PM.

ASB
ASB Applications
ASB is also opening up applications for the Spring semester. If you are interested in joining ASB, make sure you fill out the application on the ASB Google classroom. The class code is: 3clqek
Inflatable Day
Hey Lobos, Inflatable Day will be next Friday, December 9th. If you raised $60 during the Make it Happen Fundraiser, you can go to the ASB window to pick up a permission slip. Turn in your permission slip at the ASB window by Wednesday December 7th to be eligible to go!
Next Week Activities
Tuesday - This or That - Students can come to the Quad at lunch to play a fun new game!
Tuesday and Wednesday - Candy Cane Grams - ASB is selling candy cane grams from next Tuesday- Wednesday. They will be sold for $1 at lunch in the quad. You can write messages to your friends and they come with a candy cane.
Thursday - Anything But a Backpack - Some examples can be a cooler, a bucket, or a suit case etc. please make sure that whatever you bring can’t be bigger than your desk and make sure it follows school rules.
Advanced ASL
