Hello SHES Families!

Dear SHES Families,

Can you believe this is the start of your last whole week in this school year?! Thinking about last August seems like a lifetime ago. We have been through so much this school year. There has been so much learning and growth! But, most importantly, we solidified our school community and were there for each other. Thank you all for entrusting us with your children day in and out. Please cherish these last two weeks with your school community. I know I will be clinging close to the fifth-grade wing these last few days. JMMS will be getting an extraordinary group of sixth-graders next year.

As a reminder, enrollment/registration is open for next year. All students returning to Shadow for the 22/23 school year need to complete the online registration to secure your child's spot. You can find the link here. Please make sure all information is up to date and that you add anyone to your emergency contacts who might be picking up your child throughout the school year.

PBIS Family Survey

As most of you know, our school is a PBIS school. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. Our goal is to ensure that all students succeed and get support where they need it no matter what. Part of that process is by polling the parents about our school and their feelings surrounding it. The survey is anonymous and will take about 3-5 minutes to complete. Then, our staff and PTA look at the data and make plans to improve areas of growth needed. Your help and honesty will help us keep improving to make Shadow and AUSD one of the best places for your child to attend. Please click here for the PBIS Family Survey.

Chromebook Returns

All SHES students will be returning their school issued Chromebook and charger this year. Students need to return their Chromebook and charger. If you lost your Chromebook and/or charger please refer to the Chromebook agreement and see further steps.

Return dates will be:

1st Grade: 5/27

2nd Grade: 5/31

3rd Grade: 6/1

4th and 5th Grade: 6/1

If your child will be returning to SHES for the 2022-2023 school year, they will be issued a Chromebook at the start of the next school year. We do not guarantee that it will be the same Chromebook and charger they have had previously. If your child is attending JMMS, they will be issued a Chromebook and charger during registration.

Alpine Kiwanis

Water Bottles

We understand that sometimes students forget their water bottles at home or lose them throughout the day. We have water bottles and/or cups here in the office. We are always in need of water bottle donations to your child's teacher or to the whole school.

Attendance and Work Completion

If your child is missing school for any reason, we have Independent Study Contracts available for your child to complete. Once completed and turned in, your absences will be corrected and will not be an outstanding absence. We are asking that parents complete the electronic signature package as soon as they can do so and then return the completed work as soon as their child returns to school. I appreciate your support!
