Early Childhood Programs: Registration Now Open!
The Hallsville School District is excited to announce the opening of a full-day preschool program in addition to our Early Childhood Special Education program at Hallsville Primary School! Each program is committed to creating a safe, caring, engaging classroom environment where your children learn at developmentally appropriate levels.
Full-Day Preschool
The full-day preschool program is designed to serve children at least 4 years old by July 31 and will be entering kindergarten within the following year. Children must qualify for the program based on a screening and evaluation process as well as meeting Free & Reduced Lunch Guidelines. The program has a limited enrollment of 15 students.
Early Childhood Special Education
The Early Childhood Special Education Program is a federal program designed to serve children ages 3-5 with significant developmental delays in at least one of the following areas: health, motor (fine and/or gross), social/emotional/behavioral, communication (speech and/or language), cognitive, and adaptive. Children must qualify for the program based on a screening and evaluation process. If the criteria are met, the team will place the child into the special education program and write an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
For more information and to complete the Hallsville Early Childhood Interest Form, please visit us online here. Completing the form alerts the Hallsville School District of your interest in our Early Childhood Programs. Someone will contact you within 7-10 days after completing the form to schedule a screening for your child.
Bond Construction Update: Building Our Tribe
SM Wilson provided the second monthly progress report for review at the board meeting. Earthwork is progressing at the stadium complex, and lime stabilization is scheduled to begin in the coming days. Excavation at the middle school site uncovered at least four undocumented conduits including wiring, so significant additional work has been underway to identify the lines and determine which systems they service. Installation of footings at the middle school site is currently scheduled for the week of June 26. The monthly update includes two Change Order Requests for Board consideration which were approved:
Change Order Request #5: Expansion of the power transformer at the middle school addition to accommodate expansion
Change Order Request #6: Installation of in-grade power distribution to the sideline areas at the football field
Progress Report #02, June 2023
