The Heritage Herald
January 27, 2023
Hello HMS Families,
I hope everyone is staying warm. HMS students have gotten right back into the swing of things! Now would be a great time to refresh school supplies, remind your children of appropriate behavior, and check grades on PowerSchool. If you need help with any of this, please call the HMS main office (708-458-7590).
Stay warm!

We ask you to please schedule, when possible, appointments for your children outside of school hours so that your child does not miss important instruction. Research shows that children with excellent attendance consistently perform well academically.

Notes from the Nurse
- Cold & Flu season is still among us. Please keep sick students at home and encourage frequent handwashing to protect others.
- Students should stay home until they are well enough to participate and are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication. Once your student starts improving, please test for Covid and send back to school
with a negative result ASAP!
- Washing your hands is easy, and it's the most effective way to prevent the spread of germs.
- Covid home test kits will continue to be given to students sent home with Covid symptoms.
- “Once a week, take a peek” We continue to see lice cases; please check your child’s hair weekly to prevent an outbreak in your home.
IMPORTANT!
