Congratulations to 4th grader, Camdyn Jones. She and her team, Arkansas Air, are Ladies Ball National Champions. After winning Regionals in Dallas back in September, Camdyn and her team traveled to Scranton, Pennsylvania where they beat teams from all all over the country including West Virginia, South Carolina, and Washington. Arkansas Air will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee in April for a ceremony where their and picture will be enshrined in the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. Congratulations, Camdyn!

Friday, November 4, will be a big night in Dragon Stadium starting at 6:30 PM:

• We will recognize our seniors from football, cheer, golf, band, and color guard.
• During halftime, the participants in the Top Gun Cheer Clinic November 1-3 will perform.
• Senior Night Programs will be on sale for $4.00.

With the 2022 football season coming to an end on November 4, it is time to get ready for the 2022-2023 Basketball Season!!

Saturday, November 5, will be the Slam Dunk to Dragon Basketball!! Arrive early to buy your raffle tickets for some great prizes - sign up for the 3 point contest - reserve/pay for your blue seat - purchase a 2022-2023 Basketball Season Pass!

And don't forget to purchase popcorn, candy, and a drink from the concession stand!

Coach Chop and Coach Paige invite parents of Jr. High and Sr. High players to a Coach-Parent Meeting at 12:30 in the high school library.

All proceeds will be used to purchase items for the boys basketball teams.

If you have family members who are veterans or are currently serving in the military, please send a photo to misty.christian@mountainburg.org by Friday, November 4.

A new video will be made for 2022. If you have previously submitted a photo of a veteran in your family, please do not resubmit a photo.

Information to include:

• Name of veteran in photo.
• Branch of military
• Student and/or School Staff that the veteran is related to.
• Please indicate if the veteran has passed away.

The high school students spent the week learning about the dangers of Fentanyl, the Opioid crisis in Arkansas, how to deal with peer pressure, and how to live a Natually high lifestyle.

Opioid abuse can affect anyone, including teens. Recent surveys found that nearly 700,000 adolescents misused opioid pain relievers in 2018. With the effects of opioid abuse devastating our communities, it is important to take the proper steps to protect your teen.
* Talk with your student about the dangers of opioid misuse.
* Monitor your medications and keep them in a safe storage area.
* Dispose of any leftover medications.
* Set a good example: Teens tend to copy the behavior of their parents, and are more likely to abuse opioids if their parents do as well.
