A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
We've almost made it through our first five-day week of school. I don't know who is more exhausted, the adults or the students!
We have really settled in nicely. I have to give a BIG shout-out to our kindergarten friends, who are mastering all school routines so quickly! They are rock stars in the cafeteria and on the playground. Our first graders have become terrific role models; I can't believe how they've matured over the summer.
Teachers are working with students, often 1:1, to do the beginning-of-the-year assessments. In the 3rd-5th grade wing, things are humming along as students are focused on their classwork.
Miss Anna is taking in tons of fresh produce, and continues to offer stickers to students who try new things. Mr. Nick is back to work part time, as he continues to recover from his injury.
All in all, we are off to a wonderful start.
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION IS NOW PAPERLESS
SPIRIT DAYS
Hopefully, everyone received the communication that was sent earlier this week about DOT DAY tomorrow. Celebrating International Dot Day is part of our new Spirit Day celebration, which will take place each month. The PES Leadership Team came up with the idea to have monthly fun, interesting, and low-stress theme days. The staff, as a whole, gathered and came up with the following days:
Oct 27 Orange/Black Day
Nov 17 Hat Day
Dec 15 Ugly Sweater Day
Jan 19 Dress like a Mainah Day
Feb 9 Sports Jersey Day
Mar 14 (Thurs) Wear Green
Apr 12 Mismatch Socks Day
May 17 Crazy Socks
Mrs. Doran will be sure to put reminders in upcoming Newsletters. We hope your student will join in the fun!
