Final Picture Retakes
If your student has not had a photo taken yet this school year please make sure they listen to announcements and report to the main commons for a photo. We will announce the end of the alphabet throughout the morning first, and then make an announcement for anyone else who may have missed.
This is not an additional opportunity for students in the Virtual program.
Future Schedule Requests Due on Xello by Friday, Dec 18th
Our future scheduling process for 2021-2022 is underway. Please see the letter here for information that was emailed to all families with students currently in grades 9, 10, and 11 and links to video presentations that all students viewed on December 1 (and can access in their grade level FHS School Counseling Google Classroom).
Because our process is paperless, we request that all students discuss their choices with their parent/guardian PRIOR to submitting them on Xello. Additional scheduling information, including departmental course details, the ACP Course Guide with complete class descriptions, and a one-page listing of all offered courses can be found at tinyurl.com/FHSCourseSelection.
All students MUST submit their requests on Course Planner on Xello by Friday, December 18.

ACT Information
In March of 2021, juniors be engaging in the ACT exam. In anticipation of this measure, we are sharing some information about the exam as well as an opportunity to prepare. We are planning to administer the exam in a digital format. In past administrations, the ACT was completed through testing booklets and by selecting and recording responses on an answer key. While this change will not impact the content that is tested, it will impact how we experience the exam. Students will need to ensure that they have a chromebook that is fully charged and one that has been updated to include the most recent testing applications. In order to prepare our devices, please make sure to check email over the next few months to ensure all actions to prepare our devices have been completed.
In order to prepare for the exam, we have provided all Franklin High School students with an online preparation tool called Method Test Prep. Method Test Prep, available through Xello, allows students to engage in subject specific practice. To access Method Test Prep, simply log into PowerSchool and enter Xello, our academic planning tool. While in Xello, scroll down to the bottom right portion of the page. There you will find Method Test Prep. Simply click and enter the application. Once you have engaged Method Test Prep, you will find an array of preparation tools. You will be able to choose various standard areas in each of the subjects tested on the ACT exam. Each contains practice questions, instruction materials and videos. The program will personalize your experience by highlighting areas of strength and allow for dedicated practice toward growth areas. Method Test Prep also allows each student to engage in two full practice exams. Please use this tool to prepare for this upcoming measure.
Please be sure to reach out to your school counselor or your administrator if you have any questions regarding this message. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and the week ahead.
